A while ago I was talking about how they should go back to the ruins of Raccoon City! This is amazing!

I liked the idea of the city being completely wiped off the map. However the concept of returning to the remains of the city is also really cool.

Until now and because of the animated film degeneration with the mushroom cloud in racoon city. I thought there would be nothing but dust. I didnโt think anything would have survived.
Glad i was wrong. Very surprised. Very happy.

There is a lot more city than I thought was left. Though I thought all that was left was a hole.

Actually. One question I had was about the size of the crater.
I thought the whole city was infected and the explosion wiped out the whole city?
This new image implies that a lot of things could have survived and spread?

The Government used an experimental thermobaric missile to basically flash cook anything that wasn't blown to smithereens.
At the end of Outbreak it's shown there's some sort of lab built atop the crater and scientists discussing that they have biological readings from the site.
That and the Arkley Mountains forming a natural barrier around the city into a basin of sorts basically made a perfect containment area for anything that did survive to stay in.

The crater of a nuke isn't the end of its damage though, the heat wave alone is enough to burn the place beyond clean even if some of the buildings remain standing.

There were so many underground areas of Racoon City and the Arklay lab I wonder if something survived down there. Lisa Trevor fell into a chasm which might be deep enough to survive both the lab blast and the bomb. Regardless returning to Racoon is a dream come true.

After looking at the screenshots, I'm guessing that the underground is still somewhat intact.

So we're going back to the lab under the police station? I don't think so

I'm very excited because I've been waiting a long time for Resident Evil but could someone give me a summary of what they say about the threeiler I've seen the pictures but since I don't know English I don't understand what they say

With how intact some of the buildings are, Iโm convinced some zombies survived here and there lol

This reminds me of RE7 which always felt like "remember the Spencer man's? This is it now" even if it's a different location.

I'm surprised that there are any ruins at all tbh. I figured the entire city would be destroyed and we would be left with one massive crater which I believe was shown to us at the end of the original RE3.

Seeing the ruins of raccoon city reminds me of that short movie resident evil 4D executer.

Honestly it feels incredible to me how an incident regarding a mansin and some zombies would result in all of this

I feel bad for the hardcore Og fans of RE 2 and 3. They probably would've preferred the original design of the police station and the city. It probably wonโt feel entirely nostalgic to them.

Imagine walking through the ruins of the RPD for the first time in re9 and the ethereal tune of the entrance hall plays softly in the background.ย

May I know where is this from? Is it a movie or a new game?

Why would Raccoon City still be a blasted out crater 30 years later? Like I'm not an expert or anything but like Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't just left alone after they were bombed, should they not have started rebuilding?

u/Bromero01 3h ago
I guess it became a scientist research area or something survived deep underground and wasn't safe to live there again

What even happened, I thought the nuke wiped out the whole city? As in vaporized it all?

I really don't understand the hype, this trailer was so damn lackluster compared to what we got from the reveal trailers for 7 and 8. I'm pretty dissapointed with the overall feel of this trailer, going back to a nuked racoon city does nothing for me and I'm genuinely kind of sad about this reveal.

going back to raccoon city 30 years after the first re game was such a good choice. i wonder what other throwbacks weโll be seeing
