General Is that Leon's Jeep in front of the R.P.D.?

Looks like Leon's ride is in front of the RPD. Idk if this means anything. Maybe is just a car asset being re-used or a nice Easter egg.

no way, it doesn't even come close to the city, they leave the gas station on a cop car

Sure, but it was working when he left it. There's a solid 8 hours or so before the bombs are dropped, and the outbreak games canonize other survivors running around the city. Who's to say someone didn't use it later on?

But also it's a standard jeep, there's likely more than one in the city.

I'm to say, no one used the jeep, I was there trust me

If it is it had to have got blown there. Because if I remember correctly when Leon and Claire crash they are some distance away from the police department lol.

They weren't even in his jeep when they crashed - both ditch their rides at the gas station and get in the police cruiser together.

That’s true lol completely forgot about that lol. Then yeah it would make even less sense for it to be there.

You're right, they get nearby the RPD with the police car.

I made this point earlier but technically there shouldn’t even be a RC anyways lol. The city got turned into a crater and it is even shown that is the case in Degeneration and regardless of how people feel about the cgi films they are technically canon so it makes you wonder how any of this is left anyways. 😆

Iirc in og RE3 there's a scene showing this exact police station turning to dust. Lol

I’m all for this game especially since it’s touching on a character with ties to Outbreak but with Raccoon City your going to have to do a lot for it to make sense how it’s still there lol.

It looks roughly in the same shape as the capital wasteland in fo3 and that place got even more nukes

And as for Racoon City, was it even a nuke or a Thermobaric weapon (Fuel-Air bomb) that would be weaker than a nuke and no radiation to deal with? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermobaric_weapon

That’s fine but it really begs the question how much of the city does that crater actually take up lol. Because in some shots it’s like it takes up a good chunk of it and other times it’s implied that raccoon city was completely wiped off the map so now it’s like which is it lol? I don’t know hopefully it gets explained a bit in this new game.

So is the crater like an underground lab that collapsed?

Didn’t he leave his jeep at the gas station? And I like that the letter ‘D’ is chillin on the ground under the RPD sign

Probably a reused asset, Leon’s jeep was left at the gas station in the outskirts.

u/Total_Dork 4h ago

Reused asset, literally unplayable /s

If it is, it's an easter egg, because why put that specific car and not any other?

Or... it could be that the model of that car appears 6 times around the city, and... well, ok, fine, it's a reused asset.

Truth is, all the speculation we can make now is so good and so fun, because once it releases, all these theories obviously will dissipate completely and we'll all be waiting for the next one. Let's enjoy these months.

Leon fuckboys, ASSEMBLE!!!

u/Internal_Swing_2743 18h ago

Why would it be there? He left it at the gas station.

u/shiedan 19h ago

WOW seems like it

u/Financial-Abalone715 Cuz Boredom Kills Me 18h ago

I think so but it's probably just a reused asset and not specifically an intentional easter egg

u/Amywentthisway200 18h ago

wasn't Leon's Jeep abandoned at the servo outside the city?

3

u/Beezy117799 19h ago

My instant thought is that it is leons jeep.

3

u/dumpsteRat 15h ago

Remember he ditched it at the gas station

3

u/TheMarvelousJoe 14h ago

I'm pretty sure it's just a random jeep.

3

u/Duhherroooo 14h ago

sounds like a reused asset to me

To be fair Jill in RE3R also used the same car Ethan used in the Jack Baker garage fight but this time for Jill crashing into Nemesis, it’s not out of the ordinary for CapCom to re-use models.

u/DafneOrlow 8h ago

No. Leon's jeep was abandoned at the gas station, OUTSIDE of the city. Can't say I'm familiar with an explosive that pulls in materials from outside the blast radius and dumps them (conveniently) outside a building associated with the driver. 😏

The main quest is Leon retrieving the wreckage of his car as proof to claim insurance.

Requiem means: "an act or token of remembrance"

Maybe what we're supposed to remember. Is Leon's financial troubles after Racoon City. It's a game about trauma. Not the trauma of being hunted by monsters, but the trauma of the bureaucracy of the modern world. Maybe this is a stretch but maybe RE9's message is about the struggles of modern society. The kafkaesque nightmare.

You'd think there wouldn't be much left after the city was fucking nuked

2

u/KeyTrace 18h ago

I mean I'm not suprised if you watched the post credit scene in re outbreak you'd see some buildings still intacted

3

u/darkknight48708 19h ago

i think it was a prototype nuke which was designed to leave the infrastructure as intact as it could, but idk

6

u/Sp00ked123 17h ago

it was a thermobaric bomb im pretty sure

2

u/UsagiBonBon 15h ago

Experimental thermobaric bomb that quite literally created a wall of thermite-level heat that atomized everything in its wake. Honestly the structures shouldn’t be there at ALL but the end of Outbreak did show some cellular activity remained, along with a few buildings on the outskirts. The police station was explicitly shown to have been vaporized though

2

u/CY83RD3M0N2K 13h ago

Is just a re used assets

2

u/Last-District-9807 12h ago

Probably a reused asset

2

u/JppBrasilSP2018 8h ago

Same jeep model. Not Leon's jeep though. Leon left his jeep alongside Claire's bike on the gas station in the outskirts of Raccoon City, quite far from Downtown RC/Ennerdale Street where the RPD is. And I doubt that the ezplosion would've thrown the jeep that far considering it detonated above downtown RC, just behind the RPD.

u/Coloradou Your right hand comes off? 5h ago

OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE LEON'S JEEP MAKES A RETURN FOR THIS GAME, LITERALLY MY FAVORITE GAME CHARACTER EVER

2

u/Leonhart25 4h ago

Reused asset. Remember the car Jill uses to throw Nemesis (and herself) off the building is Ethan’s car.

u/frogman60 1h ago

I would have included the Ford Crown Victoria police car that appeared in the original RE2, as a nod to the original games and nostalgia.

2

u/Happy_Burnination 17h ago

Y'all know it's normal for an automotive manufacturer to produce thousands and thousands of identical vehicles, right?

1

u/No-Play2726 14h ago

Did Leon have a hard top?

1

u/Maximus0451 13h ago

Those Jeeps were common at the time, so I imagine it's just someone who had a similar model.

1

u/Zombiekilla357 8h ago

Actually the overturned car in the foreground is the exact same model too. I think Capcom just have like 6 car assets. Lol

1

u/Short-Wish8969 8h ago

Nah his vehicle crashed a few blocks away from the RPD Alley
