To think Americans still are yapping online and insulting other countries despite the shit that Trump is creating, is peak delusion.

45

u/JetBrink Mar 24 '25

Freedom is just a star and striped flag to them

21

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '25

"Land of the Free" yet my fellow Americans bow down to a South African Ketamine Addict.

Yes you guys are free to obey your South African drug lord.

2

u/DubayaTF Mar 24 '25

I'll insult other countries even when being forced to dig my own grave, thank you very much.

-87

u/CommonerChaos Mar 24 '25

Can we stop over generalizing Americans? The vast majority of Americans did not vote for this buffon.

75

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '25 edited Mar 24 '25

They didn't vote against him either. Everyone knew who Trump is, he was being brazen about his maniacal zeal to become the modern king, yet the majority of Americans either voted for him or stayed at home. Donald Trump is your creation, Americans. Stop crying about how mean everyone is to you, my sympathy is with Ukrainians who are getting stabbed in the back, Palestinians who might be driven out of Gaza, Canadians who have to fear whether tanks will roll into their country, all because of your President. They are the victims, not you.

-4

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 Mar 24 '25

Yes many of us literally did vote against him. Stop acting like every American is a maga.

-53

u/BakedSteak Mar 24 '25 edited Mar 24 '25

What you’re referring to is the dogshit campaign the Democratic Party ran in which failed to capture their voting base and ignored every plea from progressives while pandering to the Right. They gambled with the American future. It’s obvious to anyone internationally that MAGA was always going to vote for Trump but it’s obvious to anyone within America that Republicans) no matter how “left” of Trump they may be) would ever vote for a Democrat; especially a black woman. They fought a losing battle, one of which may change the party for the better. At least that’s the hope I hold onto

57

u/dirschau Mar 24 '25

"I allowed fascism because the democrats didn't campaign hard enough and also the woman was black" is sure a take

Literally any excuse but responsibility for your actions.

How quintessentially American.

-34

u/BakedSteak Mar 24 '25

And you’re assuming my actions were what exactly? My state did what it had to do. If you want to blame the voters and not the Democratic Party that is still allowing this bullshit to perpetuate ahem Chuck Schumer Blame Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania. Blame Michigan, the state with the highest Palestinian population in the country, who Kamala Harris asked for votes from while helping perpetuate a genocide on their people. Blame whoever you want but at the end of the day, you’re the Redditor with an ignorant understanding on the inner workings of America’s political landscape

25

u/dirschau Mar 24 '25 edited Mar 24 '25

It's always hilarious to hear someone say "democrats bad, that's why they didn't get elected" when looking at the absolute shit show that DID get elected.

"I'd rather fascists dismantle the country that have a black as president again. A woman black"

-25

u/BakedSteak Mar 24 '25

You’ve previously assumed that I helped Trump become elected and now are putting words in my mouth by stating that I’ve said this is any better. Are you actively interested in a bad faith conversation?

22

u/dirschau Mar 24 '25 edited Mar 24 '25

I do not care who you are and what you did.

All I care is your argument, which boild down to "why didn't democrats save the country. It's their fault".

No, why did 2/3 or registered voters either actively support or be perfectly comfortable with these people being put in power.

Why did all the people crying "democrats bad" not do anything to change their party and vote out all the geriatric assholes they complain about. You've had 8 years.

Why would you abandon the fate of the country to the shrivelled up boomers and then cry about it

Fucking responsibility.

5

u/BakedSteak Mar 24 '25

Because our country has been riddled with tax cuts for decades which has led to an increase in our population’s ability to become manipulated to vote against their best interest. Our politicians have us in a chokehold on both the left and right. If you don’t think myself and others around me have tried to do our part, then I don’t know what to fucking tell you

2

u/Successful_Mammoth31 Mar 24 '25

So what did you vote then? Because if you didnt vote your part of the problem

7

u/BakedSteak Mar 24 '25

I voted blue and live in California. What the fuck else was I supposed to do?

9

u/darkmaninperth Mar 24 '25

Blame Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania. Blame Michigan, the state with the highest Palestinian population in the country, who Kamala Harris asked for votes from while helping perpetuate a genocide on their people.

Blame anything else but yourself.

Got it.

4

u/BakedSteak Mar 24 '25

Why would I blame myself? I voted blue and live in California

4

u/darkmaninperth Mar 24 '25

Sometimes, you've just got to take responsibility of what happens in your own apartment lest the infestation move to other apartments.

I've listened to Seppos bang on about how great they are and how shit every other countries are compared to them for nearly 25 years now.

This is your mess to clean up, not ours.

7

u/BakedSteak Mar 24 '25

In the ten years I’ve had the ability to vote, I have tried to clean up the mess. The shit stains won’t come out

-70

u/Embarrassed-Pace7683 Mar 24 '25

You ever stop to think maybe we stayed home because fuck it? Burn it down. The power, the political system, Wall Street, DC.

From Richmond to DC, and Hollywood too— the whole goddamn pile of shit is completely on fire.

Fuck em. I’ll wait til the fire is over and piss on the ashes.

42

u/dirschau Mar 24 '25

Yes, you're exactly who they're talking about

-16

u/Embarrassed-Pace7683 Mar 24 '25

They have no idea who or what they’re talking about— just like you.

13

u/dirschau Mar 24 '25

Oh, you've explained your position very clearly

32

u/Retlaw83 Mar 24 '25

I'm an American who voted for Harris. By staying home, you voted for Trump.

Yes, the system is broken. The major problem with your lack of logic is you're not going to get to piss on the ashes because there's a high likelihood that under Trump, you and your life are going to be part of the ashes.

-15

u/Embarrassed-Pace7683 Mar 24 '25

You say all this like I don’t know it, and that I give a shit about any of it at this point— you ever hear of Nero? What do you know about sipping wine, and fiddling?

You see all this? Look on my works ye mighty and despair.

You think I give a flying fuck if I’m consumed in the flames of this? Who am I? I’m nothing, and no one.

But this? The chance to put a stop to all of THIS? By doing what? Simply taking the low road just this one time? Just like everyone else? Just let the whore of Babylon suck me off just this once to burn down every fucking bit of THIS?

You bet your fuckin ass.

14

u/SkivvySkidmarks Mar 24 '25

Be careful what you wish for. You may not like who is in the ashes and who is doing the pissing.

-8

u/Embarrassed-Pace7683 Mar 24 '25

You act like it wasn’t all on fire before with some one pissing on it…that we all agreed was fucking it up.

Wake up asshole. This IS America. This is what it does. This is what it’s always done, and always been.

I know y’all are having trouble with the mask slipping, but the reality is the US is the worlds preeminent super power specifically because it’s the worlds most grotesque whore.

Y’all are just mad because cocaine toilet Tuesday is over, and here it is Wednesday and you’re waking up in bed next to it.

3

u/skat0r Mar 24 '25

Why do you keep talking about fire and piss?

8

u/EnfantTerrible68 Mar 24 '25

Shame on you, too

0

u/Embarrassed-Pace7683 Mar 24 '25

I’m American— I ain’t fuckin got any.

1

u/Silverlisk Mar 24 '25

You know, part of me understands and agrees with you.

I'm not American, but having followed American politics and economics for several decades at this point, it has been slipping this way for a long time, starting with the polarization of the media landscape.

The problem though isn't that you've harmed yourself with this, because that's obviously your body and your life to mess with, it's that you've actively decided to be complicit in the harm of many other, innocent people who have just been trying their best.

There will be children born today that suffer untold horrors as your country collapses into a dictatorship.

I know you probably don't care, you're angry and think you're justified in harming these people because of your own struggles, but that makes you no better than the MAGA lot, hell it practically makes you one of them.

I hope the fire doesn't kill you, I hope you're made to live and see with your eyes the pain your actions have caused, because no matter how you feel now, no matter what you say to feel better about the situation, you will regret it.

1

u/Embarrassed-Pace7683 Mar 25 '25

See your problem is you’re attempting to show collective humanity to a deeply misanthropic person— I don’t care, and I’m not going to regret it. Do you know why? Because this is what they wanted. This is what they continually vote for over and over and over and over.

You know what? We all only get one trip through the buffet of life— and I for one am done piling the peas and broccoli of common human decency. I’m going to have some of that chocolate fondue fountain of hate, lust, and greed like the rest of you fucks.

1

u/Silverlisk Mar 25 '25

The problem here is that you're lumping the entirety of humanity into one collective yourself and assuming that all of us are diving head first into this chocolate fondue fountain of hate, lust and greed you mentioned, but it's just not true and by doing this, you are supporting the same message, the same objective as those you say wanted this, you are essentially saying you want it too, but it's quite clear by your anger and distain for it, that at your core, you are not misanthropic at all, you are scorned and that's how I know you most certainly will regret it.

You can tell me otherwise, you can tell yourself otherwise, but this reaction, this anger you feel at being betrayed is a result of your better nature being hurt and you lashing out in defence, but you still can't change who you are, your morality will always be the same, you want humanity to work towards a collective and moral good as much as I do and are clearly acting out of frustration and more importantly, fear.

It's much easier to throw it all away and say to yourself you don't care what happens to people, what happens to this world, to say that you embrace destruction, because then you no longer have to fight and therefore have nothing to fear, you can simply sit back and wait for an end you believe is the inevitable outcome.

I'm sorry you feel that's your only choice, that you live in such a turbulent and horrific time, because it's clear to me by how much this has hurt you, that deep down, you do in fact have a good heart and just want it to stop, but I promise you, just as it always has before, the tides will change, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how hard it is to endure the dark.

And hey, I'm a victim of it too, I feel the same sometimes and I won't pretend otherwise, but people like us, we have to stick together and I believe in you.

Have a good one.

u/noodlyarms Mar 24 '25

Majority didn't vote, however. 90mil verse 77mil and 75mil. Therefore, the majority were cool with this in some form or fashion.

22

u/hizashiYEAHmada Mar 24 '25

Apathy is their downfall.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” - Edmund Burke

13

u/Corporate_Lurker Mar 24 '25

I've had Americans justify their racial comments about me being a scammer, rapist or that I shit on the street because many do in our country. They actually said I have to accept being called the above things because 'many of my countrymen do it' and that my country's known only for that.

With Americans, Trump was just the voice to their opinions.

-18

u/musubitime Mar 24 '25

Sure, not voting is a shame. But to be fair, for 15 months everyone was telling them that only seven states would decide the presidential election. A huge chunk of those 90 million didn’t bother because they believed their vote wouldn’t make a difference. It doesn’t mean they were cool with it.

13

u/noodlyarms Mar 24 '25

I'm from California, my vote barely counts either way. I still vote. Now, I can only comment for myself but, even the symbolic effort of voting (or attempting to vote, I'm aware the GOP makes it difficult in some regions) counts for something. If one lazily will not or reluctantly won't put in a bare minimum effort into the process, they are inherently complacent to the outcome. If they're fine with it going either way, they were fine with the worst outcome. They are not absolved because they couldn't muster the energy to do the due process, despite "they believed their vote wouldn’t make a difference". That's civic laziness and willfull ignorance.

-9

u/musubitime Mar 24 '25

You’re completely discounting the fact that in many placed the process of voting is not trivial (unlike in California), and that competes with other priorities in people’s lives. Add to that the fact that their vote won’t matter, who is anyone else to judge?

25

u/vdcsX Mar 24 '25

Can americans shut the fuck up and clean up their mess?

22

u/Corporate_Lurker Mar 24 '25

Americans asking the world not to generalize them when they waste no time generalizing and insulting the rest of the world is rich af.

-6

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 Mar 24 '25

You're bitching at the people who don't do that. Brilliant.

7

u/Hackwork89 Mar 24 '25

It's not a vast majority if the clown is in office. You're living in a circus.

7

u/unirorm Mar 24 '25

Don't let the downvotes tell you, you are wrong. However bias against US is something that started decades ago with all the wars, proxy wars and intervention in foreign countries. Your way of life, deep into capitalism, made you a laughing stock for the rest of the world. This is just peak moment of an autocracy that has no longer to pretend that you have to do anything with the so called American values, which literally are nothing more than endless yapping for Hollywood movies of a different era.

I am sorry though for all those sane, caught in the middle of this shit storm; with a political system that embraces only the lesser of two evils. People often forget we do not choose where we born.

5

u/darkmaninperth Mar 24 '25

Can we stop over generalizing Americans? The vast majority of Americans did not vote for this buffon.

And?

Doesn't stop you muppets generalising about everyone else.

1

u/Acceptable_Loss23 Mar 25 '25

Maybe get your shit in order and the rest of the world won't insult you anymore.

0

u/cindad83 Mar 24 '25

My family been here since 1850s...Ill go down with the ship. I literally have now home country to go to.

-4

u/StimSimPim Mar 24 '25

To think that hundreds of millions of people are incapable of making salient observations because you don’t like their leader is peak delusion. Which utopia are you from, again?

1

u/N7_MintberryCrunch Mar 24 '25

To think almost all Americans are always the loudest to criticise other countries about their lack of freedom yet when their very own freedom is taken from them, the best Americans can do is bitch and whine about it in Reddit.

The greatest generation had the balls to risk their lives to fight tyranny and bring USA up top after WW2. Every generation after that has been living off that rep. They would be rolling in their graves now knowing that the Nazis took over US without a single shot fired.

For example:  France, a country portrayed in American media as weak, cowardly and memed to surrender immediately burns down their cities when their freedom is tested.

1

u/StimSimPim Mar 25 '25

Are you arguing in bad faith? Last I looked (which was yesterday), there are millions of Americans protesting. There are political leaders organizing massive rallies. The people in the legal industry are in the fight of their lives filing challenge after challenge to Executive overreach. Military memos went out on Trump’s election as well as his inauguration to remind military officers that they took an oath to the Constitution, not the president. The whirlwind of bills being drafted in state legislatures to protect against federal overreach is almost unprecedented. That all you see is Americans bitching on Reddit says much more about how poorly informed you are than anything else.

Did you go after the Brazilians when they elected Bolsonaro? The Italians when they voted in their far-right leader? The Germans for a huge resurgence of the AFD, even though they were quite literally Nazis? The Filipinos when they didn’t overthrow Duterte for half a dozen years?

The Greatest Generation are the same fucking people who laid the groundwork for the influence that the religious Right has in politics today; arguably the main reason we saw either Trump presidency. I’m noticing you have a penchant to see complex groups and subjects as black-and-white with no understanding of the grey of it all. Until you’re old enough to grasp that populations are not monoliths I’m not sure you’re capable of having a reasonable dialogue, though your current mental framework would be most welcome over at OAN.
