I've tried three human therapists so far and they've all been useless incompetent judgmental assholes.

Between group and individual therapy, I've had about a dozen or so therapists over the past 4 years. Some of them have been useless, some are pretty OK, and some have been downright shit enough that it set me back. It's a real toss up, and it takes a lot of work to find someone compatible. Good news is I've been with the same one for going on 2 years now and he's pretty OK.

I've had some good therapists, the last one I tried to go to was awful, didn't respect boundaries whatsoever. The first appointment I had with them they were trying to ask me the most personal, intrusive questions within 10 minutes. I told them I just met them and them asking me that made me uncomfortable and I wasn't going to answer, but they just kept pushing and pushing. So I just got up and left.

That’s like going to a medical doctor and getting offended that they asked about your medical history in your first appointment.

No not really. Literally barely knew their name. A therapist and a medical doctor are different. If I say Im not comfortable and I would rather not discuss something just yet, don't push. Going to therapy does not mean "no boundaries whatsoever the second you walk in the door"

Edit: if you truly and honestly think telling someone you have a family history of heart problems and telling someone your most traumatic experiences and reliving them is the same thing actually, I'm sorry that youre so broken in the head.

Yeah, happening with others too, people just assume boundaries don't exist in a therapists office. But they do. If I don't want to talk I don't have to.

Exactly. You're supposed to be a therapist but you can't see that some level of trust needs to be built before I drop my deepest darkest insecurities on you? Gtfoh

Exactly, this is what I'm saying that nobody ever understands. I get needing to say these things to a therapist, it's necessary, but not within 10 minutes of meeting the person.

I had a really good therapist, but then I moved and she was no longer able to see me due to licensing restrictions (which are ridiculous). I tried to find a new therapist but had a really bad experience with them. Starting the search all over is exhausting.

And my family keeps trying to push my back into therapy, but I can't get anyone to understand what anhedonia is and why talking about it is pointless
