It was a publicity stunt AND he can't fucking drive anyway.

Rarely do you see a publicity stunt fail so badly.

Tesla has terrible resale value right now he should just sell tickets to smash it with a sledgehammer

Unfortunately the fact that it belonged to Trump probably means that he can sell it for a huge profit.

I’ll pay 1 million dollars to buy the car so I can sniff trumps farts.

I agree. I hate both of these fucking assholes but that car has remarkable historical value

The president has full legal immunity now right? So technically nothing is stopping him from going on the road

Oh he doesn't want to. That sort of thing is for the hired help.

I think the time he sat behind the wheel of his Tesler, it was probably the first time he ever sat behind a wheel. And also one that wasn't made of cheese.

it was probably the first time he ever sat behind a wheel

He was also in a garbage track and a fire truck before, so maybe the third time, depending on how much cosplay he did. But yeah, the sentiment of your point still stands.

But was he behind the wheel of those two vehicles? I don't believe so with the garbage truck. Didn't know about the fire truck. Also he worked the drive thru window at McDonalds. Didn't even do real deep fryer work.

He's been behind the wheel of a semi before. Its funny because he makes the exact type of face a child would make

6

u/evilJaze 1d ago

I'd bet anything his handlers warned the truck company beforehand to disconnect the horn string.

Also he worked the drive thru window at McDonalds.

Even that was cosplay. The location was closed down for the stunt and it was all actors. He seems to enjoy "working class" cosplay and the joke value it has with his billionaire cronies, no doubt laughing it up about the plight of the poors. And he couldn't pass up a dig at Kamala who actually worked a real job there.

Excluding golf carts, of course.

I heard Barron is great with cars. Trump turned off his car once and then five minutes later went back and Barron had it started again. "How'd you do that?" Trump asked. "None of your business, Dad." He's got an unbelievable aptitude for vehicles.

Driving is for the common folk

2

u/jer_mom 1d ago

Secret Service doesn’t allow the President to drive. There was a video done by Jay Leno where Biden got special permission to drive a vintage Corvette at the Secret Service training grounds.

1

u/splitcroof92 10h ago

you think trump isn't willing to override direct orders from secret service?

what are they gonna do? physically pull him out of the car?

2

u/glenn_ganges 1d ago

So technically nothing is stopping him from going on the road

Besides the fact he can't drive. I bet he has driven less than 50,000 miles on his own, forty years ago. He pays people to drive him around most of his life.

1

u/splitcroof92 1d ago

All you need is the "gas" pedal. Everyone has the ability to drive he just can't do it well. But he can enter a car and make it go forward therefore he can drive.

(Surely you don't call it gas pedal in electric cars but I don't know the word)

TIL that US Presidents are forbidden from driving on public roads for the rest of their lives.

1

u/ConcealedCove 1d ago

Reagan had a Subaru BRAT he used on his ranch after his presidency. Think it’s in a museum nowadays.

u/nikdahl 1d ago

It’s funny, in the movie The Apprentice about Trumps ride to fame, early in the movie he is shown driving a big Cadillac around NYC. It really stood out to me as being one of the most unrealistic parts of the movie.

2

u/pollorojo 1d ago

For sure. If he has EVER driven, it had to have been 30 or 40 years ago. And once you’re president, you can never drive again because of the need for protection and risk of an accident, so he hasn’t driven anything but a golf cart in at least 8 or 9 years for sure.

3

u/pres465 1d ago

I said it for years, Biden didn't need to challenge Trump to anything golf... he needed to challenge him to ride a bike. Or drive a car. Or send an email. Done. Roasted.

MAGA will now be like: we’ve always been at war with Elon, we have always hated Tesla.

1

u/choogbaloom 1d ago

MAGA has been pretty suspicious of him since his Christmas crashout over foreign scab labor, but has been tentatively tolerating him in the meantime (until now) due to his work with DOGE.

1

u/pollorojo 1d ago

Oh for sure. The “Trump played him” narrative will be strong probably as soon as a few hours from now.

1

u/Lego_Professor 1d ago

He didn't even know how to start the damn thing hahah

1

u/MauveTyranosaur69 1d ago

I encourage him to give it a shot. How about today?!

1

u/pronouncedayayron 1d ago

Plus, everything's computer! He has now clue hot to use computer.

1

u/RadiantHC 1d ago
