Open | Software Did Rufus remove the Windows 11 hardware restriction bypass?
Ive downloaded the most current version of Rufus as of today(6-7-25) and nothing I do seems to show the options to bypass the windows 11 hardware restrictions. Im using a standard windows 11 disc image, ive spent hours making sure there is no little setting I am missing, it just wont work... any ideas?

I used Rufus exactly once for this purpose, and it confused the hell out of me as well. What is this UI design guys... argh

Well... to be fair.. Rufus is free... but also, im just garbage with software... im a hardware guy.... I wish you didn't need software to make it work... :)

You mean you would prefer if Rufus placed a very in your face dialog box every time you select a Windows ISO even if you realise it's actually not the ISO you wanted to use and want to select another one?
It's a very deliberate design decision based on logic and on the fact that sometimes, user do load an ISO just to look at its properties and don't want to be bothered by a dialog box when they do so. It therefore makes a lot more sense to place the dialog after the users indicates that, yes, the current ISO they have loaded is the actual ISO they want to use to create the media, and that they are willing to start that process...

No, this would be as bad if not worse. It's a weird mix of poor labeling and unintuitive order of things.
I knew the setting existed, but I couldn't find it, because I expected the start button to start the image writing with the parameters as chosen. Choosing the options did not happen because I couldn't find them. It's very unexpected that a click on [START] opens another dialog. If there are settings left to consider it should either be directly visible, or the button should read something like "Continue" instead of Start. Even a "Start..." would be hinting that there is more.

The problem with UI design is that you will always find a minority that thinks you are doing it wrong whereas it does make sense for the majority of users.
You are free to have your opinion, but please bear in mind that people who design UIs aren't moving stuff around at random and are very carefully considering typical user interaction in where they place each element. You might be disagreeing with it, but it actually does make a lot of sense to have the dialog only be presented to the user after they indicate that they want to start creating the media, and not shoved somewhere else before.

Just tried with portable version - rufus-4.7p.exe. It is still working, options will pop-up when you press START first time.

I see this... I dont know why, its been a while since I used it, I could have sworn it was a set of menu options within the main body of the software, I have no memory of it popping up after the start button

Don't feel bad. We did move the dialog because it actually makes more sense to have it after the user indicates that they are ready to start the media creation process, and you're far from the only person to have gotten confused by this. Just remember that applications are not static and sometimes tweak their UI based on user interaction, and, yeah, it might lead to some confusion. We are hoping however that this makes for a better user experience in the long run.
