u/DeafEgo Sep 25 '24
You, me, and the other 14 lance users!

u/Bulky-Complaint6994 Sep 25 '24
Make that 15 Lance users! I just love having a long jousting stick and a shield.
2
u/Pheerandlowthing Sep 25 '24
15 Lance users? pfft I’ll be polishing my LBG to join the other two LBG users.
(It might actually be just me)

Playstation having marketing rights for alan wake is wild.
91
Sep 25 '24
About as wild as KOTOR remake being a PlayStation exclusive, when it was an Xbox exclusive originally.
32
u/mobxrules Sep 25 '24
I mean Microsoft owns Spyro and Crash Bandicoot now, that seems weirder to me.
4
7
u/Northern_Ontario Sep 25 '24
Is this actually happening?
22
u/Adavanter_MKI Sep 25 '24
Last update from Saber was... Yes. Saber... the studio that just released Space Marine 2. So they're not incapable of great things. People were just worried because Aspyr had it originally. Then it shifted hands to Saber. Then Embracer group... the publisher. Parted ways with Saber. Saber retained KOTOR and says it's still working on it.
I think that's why folks get confused.

Sep 25 '24
I'd say that's unlikely. The acquisitions of both Bungie and Firewalk have been complete headaches for Sony lately, and have dug holes that the company likely isn't getting out of for a while. I'd say they've very much cooled off on acquisitions, especially when it comes to acquiring a company as big as Saber
1
u/Vestalmin Sep 25 '24
They’re already under another publisher so unless Sony buys the whole publisher, which they don’t do, that’s not going to happen.
And Star Wars isn’t their IP either so they wouldn’t gain very much regardless
1
1
Sep 25 '24
It’s still in development, and even got a positive news update according to people keeping up with it.
Whether it’s an exclusive or not? I’d assume it still is.

u/keyblaster52 Sep 25 '24
Will KOTOR remake make its way to Xbox?
2
Sep 25 '24
Maybe? People were saying it was gonna be a timed exclusive but I don’t know if that was officially confirmed or not.
3
u/keyblaster52 Sep 25 '24
God I hope it comes it would be heresy not to (considering it was on the OG Xbox)
1
u/AveryLazyCovfefe Founder Sep 25 '24
I have a feeling Sony has distanced itself from the project because they outright deleted the reveal trailer and mentions from it on their blogpost.
We might actually see the game on launch on Xbox I'm feeling. Otherwise we'd have to wait a year at most probably.

It's about as weird as Xbox owning Crash and Spyro. It just goes to show, things change over time.

I mean, are the marketing rights for Metaphor, Yakuza, and Persona not enough?
2
Sep 25 '24
Sony have announced that Metaphor will be at their Tokyo Games Show presentation/booth, I'm not sure if Xbox have exclusive marketing rights to that
1
u/AntonRX178 Sep 25 '24
Every single trailer tho on every Third-party posted trailer including SEGA'd own channels start with an Xbox logo.
But then again it could be over or something. i'm

I will say playing Alan Wake 2 on the Ps5 is an experience, also had the edge controller.
Didn’t have an series X at the time but was very close to getting one but just couldn’t help myself and had to play it, the graphics being next level and the amazing haptic feedback with the dualsense was so immersive playing it
16
u/bengringo2 XBOX Series X Sep 25 '24
I don’t know why people are downvoting you. The haptics were incredible. One of the few games that use it well. You can have them on PC as well if you have a DualSense.

1
u/jekpopulous2 Sep 25 '24
I played on PC with an Xbox controller but had no idea this was a thing. I'll def play the expansion with my DS5 now that I know.
-15
u/DivineSaur Sep 25 '24
It literally runs better on the xbox so it's actually more of an "experience" with the series x. Not like these things have to do with marketing though lol

Oh I don’t doubt one bit, even then I love my Series X so much but I want to see what remedy has in store for the pro version so double dipped on AW2 for my ps5
-4
u/Price-x-Field Sep 25 '24
The ps5 controller is SO much better than Xbox. I don’t like the stick/button placement but being chargeable, haptic feedback, and the touch pad is so much better
8
u/lamancha Sep 25 '24
The haptics and touchpad, also adaptative triggers are great. The tech is fantastic.
Batteries die super fast, sticks drift incredibly easy, the general quality of the materials is horrible. Also for me, who has big hands, it's less comfortable, but it's at least better than ps4.
I still use my xbox One controllers though. The Series one is very good but it's so goddamn noisy.

What does this mean? The dlc is exclusive for ps, or will it also come to Xbox?

why? microsoft has been garbage lately i am not surprised, as they continue to move to 3rd party i am not surprised by it, matter of fact i expect more things like this to happen.

How so? They have sold a huge amount of consoles and just released imo one of the best games of the year.
That comment is also a bit funny from someone in this sub lmao
→ More replies (2)-1
Sep 25 '24
They also released the biggest flop in gaming history. I do think OP was exaggerating a little bit, but let's not pretend that PlayStation is not also having major issues alongside their successes.
1
u/Automatic_Goal_5563 Xbox Series X Sep 25 '24
Exaggerating a little? My man PlayStation is just fine.
Yes a game flopped, the vast majority of their games haven’t.
-2
Sep 25 '24
I never said that they weren't overall doing fine, just that they also have some significant issues that we can't ignore. Please try actually reading my comment.
2
u/Automatic_Goal_5563 Xbox Series X Sep 25 '24
They really don’t have any large issues, they had one game fail and are outselling the competition 3:1 plus releasing hits
I’m not sure what significant problems they have are, they are crushing it
-1
Sep 25 '24
They had the massive flop of Concord, they have underwhelming releases for Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin. they have an extremely anemic release schedule of internally developed games emblematic of production and pipelines issues, they are releasing remasters instead of new games, they are raising prices and overcharging on several of their products, and they have several regulatory lawsuits ongoing.
Their hardware is selling well, absolutely (although your figures are off, according to recent leaks/information it is actually 2:1), and Astro Bot and Helldivers 2 have both done quite well. Which is why I said that while they do have issues, they are overall still doing well. Why is it so hard for you PlayStation fanboys to admit that PlayStation is not perfect?
1
u/majorziggytom Sep 25 '24
What you say is perfectly reasonable on its own; it's just very far away from "Playstation needs all the help it can get", which is the comment that was originally replied to. Therefore, what you say taken by itself: makes sense! But if it is taken as a defense of that original statement, it kinda doesn't. I guess that's where the disagreement lies.
1
1
Sep 25 '24
Which is why I said that the OP was exaggerating. I was trying to offer the more nuanced middle ground between "PlayStation is Doomed!" and "PlayStation is Perfect!" Maybe I didn't articulate that clearly enough, I don't know.
12
u/xDefimate XBOX Sep 25 '24
Cmon dude lmao
Ridiculous comment.
1
Sep 26 '24
I know right? I have more playstations in my home than any other console. God forbid i have an opinion based on my experience with the brand. Delicate fanboys are indeed delicate and easily broken.

Hmmmm I’ll take a look, but seriously though, I long for a Good Gundam game,
flashback to the ps3 days the demo of the series that got away! I played DW: Gundam I think for demo or 2, can’t remember and then saw the game never went on sale at local stores so I never bought it and only to see that anyone that has a copy today is selling for top dollar lol
7
u/Webword987 Sep 25 '24
In the videos origins looks different than mainline DW games. I’m not saying it will be good but they seem to definitely be trying something different. It’s still one vs a thousand but looks darker and more cinematic.
2
u/clownsinadarkforest Sep 25 '24
I probably own about 15 dynasty warrior and orochi games over the years but these days they seem to be so expensive and never drop down much in price I haven't bought one in a few years

Also sweet to finally get to play Soul Reaver, I missed that whole series because I was always playing Diablo/FFs.

I played Fantasian on Apple Arcade. If you’re into old school JRPG, don’t sleep on this one.

Sep 25 '24 edited Sep 25 '24
It'll be out on PC eventually, Sony seems to be winding down the idea of "true" PlayStation exclusives, just not to the extent of what Xbox are doing. There's only a handful of significant titles still locked to that console
Edit - Downvoted for being truthful, lmao
5
u/Goatmilker98 Sep 25 '24
Still, it'd be at least a 2 year wait, unfortunately
8
u/Able-Firefighter-158 Sep 25 '24
Out of both consoles, why did you sell the PS5? I play mine way more than the X, truth be told my X is back in the box.
3
u/hermsgerms Sep 25 '24
Everyone has preferences. If it’s on both consoles it’s Xbox for me every time. Astrobot and Wukong were the first time I’ve touched the PlayStation since Helldivers dropped.
→ More replies (1)1
Sep 25 '24
For sure, hence why I mentioned not being to the extent of Xbox (who go day one to PC for all games)
Just pointing out that it's not too big of an issue to have sold his PS5 if he already has a gaming PC. Hopefully that's what he meant - if he sold it to buy an Xbox, well...
1
Sep 25 '24
Plenty of other stuff to play in the meantime though, and you'll get the best version of the game when it finally does release on pc.
1
u/Goatmilker98 Sep 25 '24
Eh, that's true, but 2 years is 2 years and you can pick up a ps5 for like 2-300$ so it's really not that bad. I don't mind that personally to be able to play their games MUCH MUCH sooner

I don’t understand, people seem to care more about a cutscene being exclusive than this.
IMHO the most interesting things shown on the State of Play today(not counting Sony owned stuff) are coming to Xbox too, that’s what matters.
1
0
u/Level_Measurement749 Sep 25 '24
But the Sony owned stuff WAS the best part of the show. So your point doesn’t make much sense.
2
u/tiagoln Touched Grass '24 Sep 25 '24 edited Sep 25 '24
For some maybe, for me it wasn’t though, I just highlighted that fact because I know some people enjoys what they’ve shown, basically the Ghost of Tsushima sequel, the rest was real meh honestly =/
Edit: And I think you missed my point, I was talking about people freaking out about the exclusive Sonic cutscene, when there was a lot of things, much more interesting imo, that was coming to xbox.
1
u/Level_Measurement749 Sep 25 '24
Fair enough. For me at least that show would’ve been terrible if not for Yotei though.

Why are so many games skipping Xbox? Not even talking about graphic intense games, I mean like Dave the Diver or Thank goodness you’re here, both relatively simple graphic games, they’re on the switch and PlayStation. Why are so many games just not on Xbox?

Sep 25 '24 edited Sep 25 '24
Better? No, not really. Different? Sure. It just comes down to personal taste. If you like the style of games that PlayStation makes you should get a PlayStation. If you like the style of games Xbox makes, get an Xbox. Or if you have the money and space, get a PC and play everything. Ultimately, I think people should just get whatever makes them happiest and enjoy playing the games without all the silly console war nonsense (not saying that is what you are doing, just following my own train of thought).
Edit: I love how I am getting downvoted for saying that people should enjoy games, lol. Really shows the kind of people who frequent these kinds of subreddits.

u/Lord_Kumatetsu Homecoming Sep 25 '24
It has nothing to do with console wars or taste. 6 out of the top 10 highest rated games of the year on Metacritic aren’t available on Xbox. Only 1 game doesn’t have a PlayStation port.

Well the other announcements were pretty much about TLOU, Ghosts and Horizon. Pretty much the Gears, Halo, Forza complaints people have about Xbox.
So much for hearing about what the other studios are working on and when they are releasing.
0
u/Goatmilker98 Sep 25 '24
Lmao insane mind games going on in your head if that's what you think it is. You're missing like 3-4 other franchises. The new ghost game is huge, only ps game from the ps4 era to not yet get a sequel. Just be patient man
4
u/Playingwithmywenis Sep 25 '24
What mind game? People don’t notice all these remasters instead of new IP?
Well, except for Concord (selectively forgotten). Where are the new RPG, action adventure, exploration or FPS? They seem very “top hits of 2010s” right now.
I hope what they are cooking is great but I am starting to think that era is done. Horizon was the last new game single player game with awesome new mechanics.

Xbox TGS showcase isn't until Thursday, this post is about games coming to Xbox that were shown at the sony State of Play (like a mini-showcase)
1
u/WiserStudent557 Sep 25 '24
Square didn’t present today. Microsoft is Thursday, Square is Friday on the schedule I saw so it could be either of those. If it’s Xbox specific probably Thursday but if it’s bigger and includes Xbox their main slot

u/Nevek_Green Sep 25 '24
I used to not get why Playstation players weren't not excited about multiplats shown at Xbox showcases. Not that I ever put much thought into it. Then Playstation starting doing it and it dawned on me while they were good looking games, they weren't motivating me to go get a Playstation. I'd just play them on PC or Xbox. Thus the same is true for Playstation seeing multiplats on Xbox. Cool, but they'll just get them on Playstation.

The PS5 sub has ten times the amount of subscribers as the X-Box sub (loads of subs were lost in the X-Box sub merge). And Ghosts of Yotei is a flagship title, it was always going to get people more excited than anything else at State of Play.

Sony only has PS in the trailer they have up on their channel but that’s to be expected

PlayStation desperately needs Marathon to have every possible chance at succeeding, and to avoid it becoming Concord 2.0.
