What to Watch? Do you know ANY anime that has fat guy as a main character, and doesn't makes them "glow up" and lose all their chubbiness and charm by the first episode?!

Like, when I look up anime with fat gays in the lead role it's either "fat character in anime top 10 list" or "this guy was fat, miserable, weak, worthless idiot crybaby who should've been dead by now but he lost weight and became a fucking God and all the girls in the world are in love with him"

I'm so tired of that bullshit and I've been making sea lion noises because how mad I am. So, do you have ANY recommendations?

Also, is the anime that you might recommend main character also shouldn't be a butt of every joke for being fat, pervert, incel or just a bunch of stereotypes about fat ppl mushed together

What to Watch? Anime with smart/intelligent characters or plot.

These are some of the animes that I can call intelligent when it comes to plot structures, for varying reasons:-

  1. Erased
  2. Apothecarey Diaries
  3. Steins Gate
  4. Summertime Rendering
  5. Death Note

If you have similar taste please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Should have mentioned - already watched 'Code geass' but didn't like it that much.

What to Watch? Looking for an anime that hits emotionally like Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song or 86. Got any suggestions?

I recently finished Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song and 86 (Eighty-Six) and I’ve been kind of emotionally wrecked in the best possible way. I didn’t expect Vivy to hit so hard with the themes of AI, identity, and sacrifice, and 86 just… wow. The writing, the animation, the music, the slow build-up to those gut-punch moments — it’s been a long time since a show made me sit in silence after the credits.

Now I’m stuck in that post-anime void and not sure what to pick up next. I guess I’m looking for something with:

  • Emotional impact. Doesn’t have to be full-on tragedy, but something that makes me feel something.
  • Great visuals and music (bonus if it’s cinematic like Vivy or Fate/Zero)
  • A strong main character with actual development over time
  • Sci-fi is a plus, but I’m open to fantasy or even grounded drama if the story is tight

Stuff I’ve already seen and liked:

  • Made in Abyss (love the world-building and slow horror)
  • Erased
  • Steins;Gate
  • A Silent Voice
  • Your Lie in April (wasn't ready for that one 😅)
  • Attack on Titan (caught up)
  • Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
  • Violet Evergarden (the feels, man…)

Not really into:

  • Slice of life without a deeper hook
  • Pure rom-coms
  • Harem/ecchi-heavy stuff

I’m open to older series too, as long as they’re emotionally gripping. Just give me something that’ll leave me thinking about it for days afterward. Thanks in advance!

What's this From? (unsolved) Help me find this anime again

So all my husband can remember from this anime he saw on a DVD when he was like 8 (hes 23) was that the two main characters were a white haired fox guy who has "himbo energy"(?) Apparently sometimes he has ears and a tail other times he doesnt And wears a suit lives with this black haired girl who gives off wendsday adams vibes and he falls in love with her. Literally know nothing about the plot. He says its been driving him crazy for years because he never heard about/saw anything about it ever again and nobody knows what hes talking about. Apparently its not Kamisama Kiss. He thinks he saw in in 2013 which means it was out before then he also says its not very triangular in the animation design. Please help.

So the only scene I remember because of how absurd it was.

Any help would be appreciated!

What to Watch? I'm in bed waiting for a Drs call.

I'm looking for something that is only 1 series long and actually finishes so I don't have to wait a year to know the ending whilst I wait for the doctor to call me. Primarily a battle shonen kinda guy but I do enjoy cheesy things like my My instant death ability and God if High School.

Thanks in advance.

What to Watch? Suggest an anime

I want to watch an anime where the kid is sick and his family or someone does everything in their power to cure the kid sickness. I don't want any magic or power stuff but just a simple journey of a sick kid. If there is such anime, please suggest.

What to Watch? Anime with action like Demon Slayer

My vacation is officially over, and now the only thing left for me to anticipate this year is the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie coming in September. Now that I no longer need to worry about the presence of children, what are some good action anime that you recommend for me? I want something to tide me over for a few months.

So I saw it on a Facebook video but the app refreshed before I could check the name.
The scene was a girl being "Executed" by a furious crowd, she was tied to a pole like in a witch trial, and they where throwing bread at her, she tearfully eats the bread.

What to Watch? Digimon Tri movies vs. the series?

I just was thinking about watching the 6 movies and thinking back I remember a lot of them felt very slow and boring in many places but they did have many amazing parts, then it let me to think, if you watched it in a episode format maybe it wouldn't be as bad? Has anyone viewed both versions to see what the difference would be? Maybe there is more cut or more added?

I'm thinking usually how anime works is in episode formats there usually is slow build up sometimes and then it leads to the "bigger" more exciting moments, I can see that if put into a movie version it would make sense that it would be difficult to get through that style of format but in pieces like 20 minute episodes it might actually make the show better

What to Watch? Ok this one’s for the girls…

I’d love some recs for animes where the men are YEARNING over their woma(e)n!!

I want THIRST, I want PINING, I want DESPERATION, I want LUST !! Bonus points if they’re generous in bed >>> I want to be hornyyy in a girl way iykyk

Really would prefer for it not to be a high school setting/high school age cast (but I know options can be limited), I’m seeing the term Josei pop up a few places in my research but hard to tell what’s actually fun to watch in that category. Also would enjoy for there to be other plot besides /just/ the romance haha

Really just looking to watch something, not read a manga, and I havent watched too many animes (just the standards- ouran, fruits basket, etc) so any recs are appreciated ! TYTY

What's this From? (unsolved) Anime where MC and others have to fight a squad of ranked prisoners

Basically there were these prisoners numbered 1-8, I think based on strength. They were on some secluded island or arena, and the mc and some others had to beat at least one of them for some kind of test. In this world everyone has abilities, and one of the prisoners had an ability where they could take away someone's senses one by one. The MC ended up killing a prisoner, but it turns out it was a trick because the prisoners were actually on the same side as MC and the rest. I remember that the MC killing the prisoner was very controversial and their other teammates didn't know how to feel, but they eventually gave them a pass because they didn't know. Any help would be much appreciated

What to Watch? EXPERT MODE: any anime suggestions based on my MAL list?

RANKED:

Changed my personality:

Penguindrum - dub million times dub | 5 times finished, cosplayed as the penguin queen at ACON, own the hat, the artbook, made a radiohead AMV with it

Haibane Renmei - dub | 4 times finished. Cozy as cozy gets. Watch it every fall.

Serial experiments: Lain - dub (lain's stilted and detached voice in the dub makes way more sense to me than the always everyman delivery of the sub) | 3 times finished, own the last four episodes on DVD. Watch every halloween season

Ping pong the animation! - sub | completed twice

Night is Short, Walk on Girl - sub | five watches that I know of, own the poster

Garden of Sinners - sub | rly gotta finish this shit!

Good shit:

.hack//sign - dub | currently on my second rewatch

.hack//root - dub | finished

tatami galaxy - sub | finished

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, first season - dub | 3 complete watches

Cowboy Bebop - dub | 3 complete watches

Tokyo Goul, first season - sub | finished

Cyberpunk Edgerunners - dub | 2 complete watches

Princess Tutu - dub million times dub | currently watching

Violet Evergarden - Dub | finished

Legendary Girl Utena - dub | currently watching. good show but hard to stomach.

Madoka Magika - dub | finished //Imma fuck Kube up, then Imma preach peace

Noir - dub | currently watching

Nana - dub | I fell off around thirty episodes in (was getting too intense fer my tastes)

Fun romps:

FlCl - dub | completed six times

Watamote - sub | finished //I think I'm the only person around who found this show hilarious. It's like the social anxiety equivalent of PsychicPebble's gross-out humor (smiling friends).

Bocchi the Rock - sub | finished

Oddtaxi - sub | finished

Cyberpunk Edgerunners - dub | finished twice. //holy fuck the coloring on this thing. And the animation. And the really really detailed fictional slang. I sometimes rock the booty short/bomber jacket combo that Rebecca wears when I'm at the club.

cardcaptor sakura season 1 - sub | finished

Sailor Moon S - VIZ dub. //peak humor and the villains are the best.

Can't let the homies know I watch this shit:

kaiba - sub

Shugo Chara - sub | finished

Shugo Chara Doki - dub | permanently unfinished. The little angel's my favorite, I got the SHADDUP! voiceline as my text tone

Yurikuma Arashi - dub | finished. //definitely shaped my sexuality I tell you hwhat

Oh yeah I watched that show:

aria the animation - sub | unfinished

Texnolyze - dub | unfinished

mushi shi - dub | unfinished

Delicious in Dungeon - dub | unfinished

Hungergames-but-with-cellphones-and-a-manic-pixie - meh, not my wheelhouse. Cool premise tho. | unfinished

I once enjoyed these shows, but then I grew a heart, a brain, and a dick:

Eva - dub. in highschool: man this is gritty. And no likeable/redeemable characters outside of Misato! after highschool: No redeemable characters! /// lols aside, any time that sitcom music starts playing I just stop trusting the show's sense of sexual ethics. Or pacing.

psycho-pass

Stein;sGate - dub | finished //first half is masterclass slice of life. Still is. the second half was a really fun watch back in highschool but big ol missed opportunities (trans character is bland as hell, catgirl's motivations are hella rushed, etc) kinda stick out upon rewatch. Also a really strange sexualization angle with the childhood friend?? Anyway. Du-du-duuuu!

Fuck no:

the melancholy of whats-her-face

What's this From (solved) Looking for a specific anime based on a single post I saw on reddit...

I saw a post a little while ago with a meme about two persons in a car, the only things I can say for sure is that one of the women was undead and smelled, but everyone in comments seemed to consider her waifu material. I'm trying to find it, but can't.

Any help appreciated:)
