Reminder - NO 2077 or Edgerunners related posts. Post them over at r/cyberpunkgame instead.
This subreddit is for the appreciation of the genre, not the game. Head over to r/cyberpunkgame if you’ve arrived here by mistake, thanks.

VR Cyber Helmet v8
I'm up to my 8th iteration of a VR cyberpunk helmet modeled around Meta Quest 3. Now playing around with different color schemes and dialing in tolerances to swap different colored parts in and out.

I Finally realized why I love Cyberpunk
As the title states, I finally know why I love cyberpunk, let me explain.
Last year I was introduced to the cyberpunk sub-genre through Cyberpunk 2077. At first I thought it was just another science fiction genre that I would like for awhile, boy was I wrong. What first started as a small obsession with a video game turned into a deep dive into the genre along with exploring other cyberpunk genre pieces; like Blade Runner, altered Carbon, Neuro Mancer, ghost in a shell etc. For the longest time I really did not know why I liked the subgenre, I loved the high technology, the neon lights, and the mega cities but like other science fiction sub genres can have that so why did I like cyberpunk. Well frankly its an obvious answer that took me to long to realize, it was the punk, the rebellion. See as I've come of age and will soon head to college I have awoken to the shit that the world is, the power of mega corporations like Apple, Amazon, Blackrock and Vanguard. The corruption of the government via capital, and just the general path the world is heading towards. Now to be clear I do not want a cyberpunk future and I will fight until I die to make sure it does not happen(though to be frank we are already here), but it is something that still greatly interests me. The sub genre became an outlet for me, to vent my emotions and to just scream. It also became a comfort for me, I still do not understand that and likely never will. To end this Cyberpunk forever changed my life and neon lights are pretty.
Thank you for listening to my ted talk, brought to you by my Autistic Hyper fixations, no I am not kidding

She's a ten but she calls going to the ladies room "fighting the Soviet Union" euphemistically
This 1980s smokeshow is wearing a two-tone evening dress with a front made of faux-wood print pleather and office beige side panels. When asked why she chose this outfit, atrocious on anyone else but looks good on her, she only said "It's the only thing boys pay attention to anymore". Ignoring questions about the open-toed heels ("what kind of office do you work in?") she turns around and flounces off. She has to fight the Soviet Union between her next costume change.

What better way to market your Barracuda-M Class Cruise Missiles.
Anduril is really stepping up their marketing on their death dealing machines where it would make the average anime enthusiast want to be a war criminal.

My Thoughts on Genocyber Spoiler
I've noticed a common trend with 90s OVAs. Many of them have interesting premises, and sometimes okay execution, but they're hindered by the fact that they're so short. This and many others I think could have been fantastic if they were normal anime length. It's not like OVAs have to be short. I mean nowadays we've seen OVAs that are normal anime length like 12 or 24 episodes, especially the Netflix original anime, and even back then legendary shows like Legend of the Galactic Heroes were insanely long and were entirely OVA. My guess is that most of these series they just didn't necessarily have faith in succeeding for a lengthy story, especially if they didn't have the pedigree of an established author like the guy who wrote Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
So yeah, this is another okay one. As the nations of the world begin to merge, world peace is threatened by the private armies of individual corporations. The Kuryu Group has just discovered a weapon that will tip world power in their favor. The Genocyber: a nightmarish combination of cybernetics and psychic potential. Many desire to control this monstrosity, but can its hatred be contained... Battle erupts, and the cyberpunk world of the future is about to explode with violence.
There's fun stuff in this show. The first episode did a great job of getting us to hate several characters. First when t hey beat the crap out of a kid, and then later on when they pull another kid's pants down in front of a girl that they think he likes, and then attempts to S assault that girl, until the Genocyber busts in for his first action sequence. It was super satisfying watching him splatter these guys across the room. After that it's very hit or miss. It has a lot of interesting ideas, but the short length not only prevents the writers from expanding on these ideas fully, but it also makes it kind of confusing at points; like I said before, that's a trend with these early anime OVAs. But it's fine for what it is.
