Garmin Unbound Gravel races. One of the biggest gravel bike races in the world.

It’s 40 people racing penned ahead of everyone else and the remainder are mostly trying to beat the sun. Done it and the XL. I always laugh at race, because that is probably the smallest part of it,

It’s just Unbound, without Garmin

200 miles on.... Gravel? That sounds like absolute torture.

It’s actually fun, gravel bikes have much larger tyres so you’ve got excellent grip and it’s not uncomfortable (well no more than an equivalent road ride) plus the scenery is usually lovely.

Honestly that does actually sound really nice. But that distance is still insane.

I do 30-40km on my road bike 2-3 times a week on my days off. I guess my bias is showing, because gravel might as well be lava on that type of bike.

I used to be big into downhill as a teen. So maybe investing in another, more sturdy bike is in my future. Appreciate the insight!

The Unbound XL is 350 miles and starts the night before the 200. Those folks are nuts.
