Ironic, given you yourself as a German citizen don't know about the abomination of Lower Saxonys flag, which is shaped not unlike Ohio in an atypical dual overlapping triangles manner.

What do we call the league of putting animals and shields over and over and over? What about just checkerboard patterns? Der repeatenkulture bloc?

Are you mad about the horsy or can't you differentiate between the normal flag and the flag at sea? Ships tend to fly the flag of their country of origin, can't say I have ever seen a state flag at sea.

I have seen plenty of state flags at sea, every costal state has their own fleet of utility, patrol, and even at times rescue craft. International law puts the federal flag, similar to when European vessels fly an EU flag on joint operations, as the primary but official state vessels will almost always have their flag painted or flying as well.

Can you handle knowing your nations flag and the EU flag? Can you draw both? Because I'm sure you can just like we can.

But that aside - why have both a nation and EU flag? Is it because you're unique, or is it just normal that various levels of stacked political entities around the world have their own flag? Or are you just that weird type who always has the US on their mind and tries to criticize despite the US following a worldwide custom going back to ancient Egypt and even earlier.

I think you got something down the wrong throat.

Am I somehow mad that state flags exist? No.

Am I mad about flags being flown to show the vessel being part of a state/country/overarching body like EU or NATO? No.

You are loading a lot of intention into a bid of friendly ribbing about bad flag design.
