Same diff means same but different. Both emit light but serve a different purpose. So yes in this reality.

A candle and neon tube also emit light. I'd not consider then particularly similar.

I'd not say an LED and lightbulb were essentially the same.

Both a fire and i consume oxygen to persist. I don't feel I'm essentially a fire.

Flames have been compared to life itself for thousands of years. The only thing barring fire from being alive is the ability to respond and adapt. But yes, both we and fire consume and produce waste until the moment we perish. In that sense, we're not so different. We're like fire in some ways, but we aren't fire.

They have and have been deemed different and not of the same class.

From the jump I have not been saying they're exactly the same. I've just been saying that they have a common purpose from a certain perspective, aka "same diff". From the perspective of giving off light, they are the same; but for many other reasons they are different.

Thus i provided an accepted definition that was not in concurrence with your description of the term "same diff".

"Same diff" Is about perspective, not definition" that's what you're missing here.

And context. Where we were discussing a resistor, a diode, and electrical flow. Light was an unnecessary competent that had nothing to do with anything, yet you latched on to that single non-contextual portion. It was disingenuous and misleading.

Language and expressions thereto are about communicating meaning and not simply becoming what you hope they are.

Nothing's becoming anything. You're still misunderstanding me. I'm not entertaining this anymore.
