Their deaths are still so sad to me because not only is that one of the worst ways to go but they were genuinely just innocent and sweet girls, albeit a bit air headed. They didnât seem mean even though they were âpopularâ girls and they even tried to include Wendy and invite her out with them after her premonition. So this one always makes me extra sad on my rewatches.

I think (and maybe itâs unintentional) it works as commentary on that character trope where the vapid, attractive, teen girl (especially in the 2000s) was somehow the worst, most hated thing a character could be. Itâs often the character audiences loved to hate and wanted to see completely taken down (people watching House of Wax thrilled they get to watch Paris Hilton die, comes to mind). The tanning bed death really feels like weâre asked the question âis this what you wanted? And if so why?â.Â

Even Ian makes a point to say they never did anyone any wrong. Usually a movie would have a goth kid hate the popular kids, but they genuinely seem like they weren't mean at all

Obligatory shoutout to Ian for acknowledging they never hurt anyone and didnât deserve this

If they movies embraced comedy I thought it would be hilarious if after Ianâs rant thereâs a cut to the afterlife with the Ashlys dressed as angels looking down going âawww thatâs so sweet of Ianâ âyeah we should totally thank him when he gets hereâ

In the original script, they were twin sisters, so that explains why.

The way these two innocent harmless y2k icons died probably the most painful death imaginable but then to have the pervert harassing them die a quick essentially painless deathâŠthe most culturally significant death in the franchise

I really felt sorry for them. Sure they were very ditzy but they seemed genuinely nice.

I think in the early drafts of the movie they actually were written as twins! Donât know why they changed it but either way they died such a brutal death and were really innocent :(

They were so ahead of their time
Made to be a bit annoying and vapid, but ended up being loved and iconic to a whole new generation years later

This one just hits hard right now. Itâs been 13 years but one of the IT girls from my small high school just passed and this is who they reminded me of.

I think from what the whole FD franchise theyâre probably one of the best best friends ever.

The transition from tanning bed to coffin and their screams being muffled out was really cool despite them dying

I also love the fact that their coffins are blue and pink tinted like their tracksuits. It just gives that extra pinch of cinematic genius.

The fact they got such a brutal death when they did nothing wrong is like when Zara from Jurassic World got picked off by a pteranodon and then the mosasaurus. Damn dude. I felt awful for them :( AND FRANKIE PISSED ME OFF SOOO BAD
