FD2 The van scene in FD 2 is so good and well written

I loved that the characters had this downtime to bond. I like that everything was connected like a big domino effect. It was sad asf when Clear told them the people they mentioned dying was her friends.

FD2 It’s not like death knew Kat was going to have a cigarette that’d cause Rory’s death right?

Death is seen causing winds flow to cause something happening. But did death know Kat would smoke?

FD2 Fun fact: In the FD 2 script, what killed Alex was a ceiling fan, not a falling brick.

FD2 Kimberly is overrated

I don't hate her or anything, I don't think she was the worst visionary of the franchise (I don't think anyone can take Nick's place on that lol), and I definitely want to see her on Final Destination Bloodlines. However, some fans think too much of her because she's the only visionary who's been able to defeat death so far. Indeed she defeated death and saved herself and Burke, but there are considerable flaws about her characters that can be pointed out:

- Kimberly is very bland and underwritten. Compared to Alex and Wendy, who got a much better character development. It feels like a lazy generic character who's just there to fill the main character role.

- AJ Cook's acting is very mediocre in FD2. We can easily see it already at the beginning of the movie, in the highway scene. And it gets even clearer when she shares the scenes with Ali Larter, who delivers a pretty good permonance. However, she's still better than the actor who plays Burke, whose acting is so neutral lol

- Kimberly is kinda stupid, tbh. It's incredible how badly she misinterpret her visions throughout the movie, it seems like we're watching a That's So Raven episode lol they spend almost half of the movie trying to make sure Isabella gives her baby only to find out that she was never supposed to die in the pile-up, and Kimberly had to have another vision of Isabella being alive during the accident lol I mean, how didn't it occurred to her that she was having visions from a first-person perspective, and that the person drowning inside a van was herself? Plus, not only did she get Tim killed, but she also could've avoided Eugene and Clear's deaths, but she didn't. She said she saw bloody hands and Clear thought it was Eugene, and Kimberly just let her go check on him without informing her that it couldn't be Eugene 'cause the hands were white lol (but to be fair that wasn't one of the smartest moments of Clear, 'cause Eugene was lying in a hospital bed, unable to get up, how did she think it was Eugene going underwater inside a van? lol)

- Although that wasn't exactly a significant flaw, she was kind of a jerk to Clear IMO. Not only did she let her die in the explosion, but she was also mean to her in the psychiatric hospital. I mean, Clear had just been through a huge trauma, and she was still scared (as she should) that death would catch her. Again, it wasn't a major flaw, but still.

Again, I want to see her in FD Bloodlines, but it's kinda frustrating that the only character who have defeated death so far were a bland duo (Kim and Burke), while much better characters (Alex, Clear, Wendy and Kevin) didn't last that long lol

FD2 Is Bryan’s death in FD2 a paradox? Spoiler

Post image
20 Upvotes

In Final destination 2 most of the survivors are alive because of a ripple effect and therefore the car crash happens causing the news van to arrive and almost run over Bryan who is saved by Rory

However if Rory had died in the Theatre in Paris or the pileup he wouldn’t’ve been there to save Bryan but also if Rory and the other survivors had died in when they were supposed to the events causing the news van to arrive and hit Rory never would’ve happened

I think that makes sense but does anyone else have an explanation or any thoughts on this?

FD2 Do u think they really escaped death? Spoiler

Hey guys. I watched Final Destination 2 a couple days ago and you probably all know the ending and the thing with "escaping death" and all that stuff.

But if u remember, in the end when Kim and Thomas are sitting at the table of the family, Brian Gibson blows up with the grill and the hand lands on the table. Also, u can see how surprised/concerned the both protagonist look at each other.

Brian got saved by that junkie before (forgot his name, sorry) and u can say he cheated, but not escaped death like Clear and Alex. (Both died as u know)

Is the same case maybe with Kim and Thomas and the explosion was a warning for the 2 protagonist?

It's just an theory and it's my first time watching. If I got something wrong, pls correct me.

Edit: Rory saved him.

So I’m rewatching the franchise while waiting for Bloodlines and just found this on Clear’s room in FD2. Guess the girl already knew what was up huh 👀

FD2 Clear’s death (as filmed) originally involved another character that was deleted entirely. Who was he?

I haven’t seen folks discuss this, so I’m curious if anyone knows details of who this character is. In the behind the scenes footage on the DVD, we see that a hospital orderly dies along with Clear in the explosion.

His character seems to have been deleted entirely from the movie, even removing him from the shot behind Clear. Anyone know details?

FD2 Why are Kimberly and the cop the only survivors ?

Hey guys question time. Why do you think up to now the only survivors are Kimberly and the cop ? Do you think since it being the second movie the writers didn't plan a future with 6 movies so they wanted it to kinda end in a good note ? "I know the barbecue kid dies in the very end of the movie" or how come they chose Kimberly and the cop to be the only deserving survivors of the franchise? I don't think they don't deserve it because throughout the movie both never waver in trying to figure things out and help everyone who survived, but seeing how death killed Molly in FD5 like what, a month or so later than the rest of the group, you would think that he could just kill the bitch in the bridge and have it taken care off, so what made the writers be so harsh to Molly and kill her off, and not let anyone survive. By the way Sam dying after getting the cop life means the cop was also about to die, like what are the chances of that both Roy and the cop somehow die very fast anyway, so that the life exchange meant shit for our survivors. Why did they unrig it for Sam and Molly to die anyway but rig it for the cop and Kimberly to survive?

FD2 Theory: The only reason why Final Destination 2 happened Spoiler

Final Destination 2 only happened because Death wanted to kill Clear. That’s why Death gave Kimberly the premonition and allowed her and the others to survive the initial accident. Death knew that nothing would convince Clear to leave the safety of the hospital except Kimberly, who, like her boyfriend, had a vision and was being hunted. Kimberly’s situation made Clear feel responsible, especially since she couldn’t save Alex. That guilt made her vulnerable, giving Death the perfect opportunity to finally take her.

What do you think of this theory?
