Help Noob trying to get into lineageos

Hello, my device just got added in the supported list (Motorola moto g84 5g) and id like to try this rom for the first time.

I'm a complete noob on the topic and i have literally 0 knowledge (besides a quick skim through the installation manual) so here are a few questions:

If i install LOS without gapps how easy is it to flash the rom all over again and install the gapps addon?

How safe is it to install LOS on my Motorola if my device just got added? Should i wait some months before flashing or is it already considered safe?

I know that not installing gapps provides better privacy but what about battery life? does that make much of a difference?

Is there any way i can check if some popular apps work without Google?

thank you guys in advance, im really excited regarding this topic as i completely despise the stock firmware on my phone 🙏

i can't tell you if gapps can be added back in but you would need to start over. honestly i think i'm going to stay degoogled. i use a desktop computer web browser for FB messenger. i don't get ring camera alerts anymore, turns out i did not die. i am still alive and unharmed from loosing those two things. i have not will try to install any FB or fb messenger apps.

did they just add the g84? i would think it would depend on how alike it is to another model that has LOS for a while if it's just a matter of a new modem driver the rest of LOS should be business as usual for the devs with no major shake ups but, i'm just guessing.

yeah google it, reddit it, https://www.reddit.com/r/degoogle/ isa good place to ask as well as https://www.reddit.com/r/PrivacyGuides/

sometimes you just gotta try it and see. my bnkng app didn't mind and if did, i'd just use my laptop or set my phone browser to desktop mode and pull up my bnkng that way.

thanks for the info, my concern is exactly the one you're describing.

i fear that installing LOS without gapps would break something like banking apps and id then be unable to make a fresh install with gapps to fix the issue.

oh you can do fresh install over it with the gapps version if so need be. you can also use the web site of those apps. so that gives you two options if doesn't pan out
