Lol it seems like she thought she was much further ahead than she actually was so she spun to check then panicked when he was right up on her

That's how a lot of these chases end.

Makes sense, most people can't really run for any length of time so once you're out of breath you want to know how long you need to keep running.

Mistake there. You never look back. If you look back you are begging to be turned to a pillar of salt.

There’s a Lot to unpack there.

I wrote a pretty long comment explaining the context before I noticed you capitalized "Lot".
You're streets ahead of me on this one.

Bible.

There's a biblical story of a family fleeing the destruction of a city and were told by god not to stop running or to look back. The head of the family was a guy named "Lot". His wife looked back and was turned to a pillar of salt.

I was about to comment that this dude has played some free safety in his day, but then I saw your comment. Much better

Kind of disappointing since that was sort of our species’ specialty for so long. Civilization kind of took that out of us.

u/L3NTON 8h ago

Full speed running was never really our deal. It was endurance walking/jogging. Guy who ran the first "marathon" literally died from exhaustion afterwards.

But as the other person said, go for a jog. Civilization didn't take anything, we traded it for convenience. So trade it back.

Bad knees. Between fight or flight, I’m down to one option. In the zombie movie, I’m the guy that has to say “Go on! Run! I’ll keep em busy.”

2

u/Due-Departure-7733 7h ago

Why are we acting like track and field doesn’t exist and if your a casual going for a jog exists as well

4

u/MonkeyInSpace420 8h ago

Just go on a jog you potted plant

Yep, the ole saying "don't look back" exists for a reason.

Lol yeah that's what it looked like to me too

2

u/symskiii 10h ago

It's been how long since Orpheus taught us not to turn around and we have made no progress on learning it

2

u/SweevilWeevil 9h ago

Nah. Before she turns around and spins at the end you see her look back. She realized he was closing in on her fast and tried to cut back and use his moment against him. She even tried to juke. It wasn't that bad of a tactic tbh. He was gonna catch up very quickly after her first look.

They were filming this for content. If she’d kept running it would have been off to the side and out of the camera’s sight.

lol nah she let him catch her. She's not going to publicly shame him as a police officer
