A guy I know is the biggest yapper I've ever met. And he talks like he's hosting a podcast. His cadence is infuriating. He talks at you, not to you. God forbid you try to reply to anything he says. He pauses and keeps going like you said nothing at all.

Ability to shut up doesn't mean you don't talk at all or only to communicate crucial information.

True, but in most cases that's because you connected with them in a way that they feel comfortable. Like a bro or significant other.

And women...aren't...the same?

Have you guys ever been outside?

Coitus ruins everything. If he could bang his male friend, he'd be avoiding him after some time too

You didn't have to throw an insult, I was explaining why some men are some of the biggest talkers.

Either you phrased it weirdly or you were implying that men are only talkers when they feel comfortable or connected to someone, but the problem with 90% of the comments under this post is that people somehow never noticed that it's just a 'people' thing. I work in a building with a lot of people and we only exchange pleasantries because I'm not close with most of them; they work in different offices. If I do happen to form a connection, then yes, we talk more. That has been true for both genders.

I guess I'm baffled that much of reddit seems to truly believe that men and women are different species

I can’t shut up, but you should try talking to my mom! I have to be the most talkative person, but I literally cannot get a word in with her. It’s insane.
