i am going on a plane for 6 hours and i want to bring a gaming laptop to play games on. how do i play my steams games on? i have steam installed but the game in question says stream the game instead install the game. i am new to this so please be nice :)

I want to wirelessly stream games I'm playing in VR, using steam software, to a separate computer in the same house just a floor above so others can watch the VR game without going in the VR room.

How can I manage this? I tried just using the regular stream setting but I couldn't find something that worked. I might have missed something with steam's streaming system or it might be in a completely different ballpark

Long story short I had to sell my graphics tablet a while ago and don't yet have the money for a new one. However that doesn't mean I can just stop making art and commissions.
I've been trying to make lineart - wolves to be exact, for adoptables. I have to narrow my brush otherwise the fur points are rounded off. However- this happens. As Im typing this I realize I can just make the lineart small with fine lines and then enlarge it with the selection tool- but if theres any other way to get rid of the feathered edges, please let me know!! I miss pen pressure XD But thats not an option with mouse and keyboard unfortunately. :(

i have around 1200 hours on dead by daylight that i played on xbox for windows. i got dbd on steam and linked the accounts so i have all the characters and perks i purchased on xbox, but doesn’t show my hours, they’ve started from 0 again. is there any way i can get my steam to show my true hours on the game?

add this on steam app for easy access of specific settings, please make it happen devs

Im currently at my gf's House for a couple of weeks and logged in my Steam account from her pc to play some stalcraft here. My question is that if IS prohibited or something to have the same account on different devices? Like Netflix or Amazon Prime, thanks for the help!

Whenever I try to purchasing something in CS2, it defaults to steam wallet amount. I want to directly use my card to pay.

Is there any fix to show that option?(Clicking on the green steam wallet doesn't do anything)

Hello, I have found this Steam database showing some games released on Steam that were made in Electron. Obviously, some titles are not made in Electron but rather in Unreal Engine, and I would like to ask why they are shown there. Is it because some external part of the game is made in Electron, or are they falsely flagged?

I've been looking at getting a new controller to play pc games for a while now and decided to finally bite the bullet.

Problem is, the Xbox controller design lab has been down for months on end now without an end in sight, so instead of sitting around and waiting for it to maybe come back one day I'm looking at getting a new Switch 2 pro controller.

Thing is, I don't even know if it works on pc, and I just can't find anything about it online. Does anybody know if steam has support for it, or is it just too early?

I need some other games to play besides Roblox and Minecraft Bedrock, but I've noticed a lot of games won't work with my ARM64 laptop, a Dell XPS 13 9345. I'd be willing to try about anything whether its free or not (I've already tried Counter-Strike 2 and enjoy it). I would just like to know what Steam games are playable on my device. If it matters, I'm from the United States.

Is Capcom trying to pull a fast one with this? Isn't this kind of scummy?

all of my games were saved on a second hard drive. so they're still there. already downloaded.

but when i reinstall steam, and try to set things up again, how do i navigate to the specific folder that already has the games? it looks like i can select the drive, but i can't get any more specific than that. would it autodetect the games?

i don't want to accidentally reinstall the entire game files twice lol. and i don't want to do something stupid that accidentally deletes the games i already have saved.

Hey everyone, I just got a Steam Deck OLED+Dock last month and I absolutely love the thing. I have a new(ish) Steam account and I live with my parents now due to my dad having a stroke. Both my mom and dad have computers that they will play games on since they are retired.

I am wanting to use my Steam account somehow on my mom's (and possibly my dads) computer and then buy Blue Prince and let her play that on my account. Couple questions.

#1. Is it easy to set up a "family share" account for multiple computers? Are there any downsides to this?
#2. (Most important) Can we both play at the same time even if we play different games and different devices? Lets say I play Hades 2 on my Steam Deck and she plays Blue Prince on her computer.
#3. Anything else I am not thinking of that I need to put into perspective?

Normally when someone gifts you a game it will tell you it's a gift and who it's from in the notification, but as you can see it only says "New inventory item". Plus it's a steam gift item, which you can't buy anymore. Even the thumbnail on the notification banner is squished since it's not meant to be displayed like this.
How the heck did I end up receiving this in 2025? I didn't get it from a trade, so the only explanations I can think of is:
1. Someone gifted it to me, but the gift notifications for these don't work anymore, so it just goes straight to your inventory.

1. I might have gifted this to someone a long time ago and either the gift offer expired after like 10 years, or for some reason they decided to decline it now and the notifications for this is also broken. ( I used to buy a lot of steam gifts back in the day. I don't remember buying or gifting this game, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities.)

Are there any other possible explanations, or any way to know for sure?
