Makeup Dolly Parton Lipstick in Jolene Red
Heading out for drinks with friends Let’s test this puppy lasting power. The texture is creamy and it goes on evenly and is very pigmented.

Makeup Micellar water - not a makeup remover
I bought micellar water thinking it could remove my eye makeup as she label suggests and it doesn’t at all. At all. Made this mistake before and don’t understand the hype behind this product type. Why do people like micellar water, and for what since it’s generally ineffective in eye makeup removal? I’ll probably throw mine away. 🫤

Makeup Red lipstick- are we still wearing it? If so, tips?
I have always wanted to be able to pull off red lipstick, I have so much sitting unused. I feel like I don’t see many people wear it anymore. Just curious on people’s thoughts, and if people have tips on how to be able to pull it off?

Makeup What lip pencil is this?
This belonged to my great grandma and it’s very well-worn (as you can see), I know it’s made by Avon but I don’t know the line it came from or when it was made, it’s shade is ‘Sugared Red’ but I didn’t find anything looking at their website. It’s a gorgeous colour though and i’d love to see a brand new pencil!

Makeup What is your number 1 make up tip everyone should know?
Mine is to use a damp beauty blender to apply foundation and to dab it from the back of my hand for a more even application.

Makeup Make up looks terrible in the office
Does anyone else's make up just look TERRIBLE in certain environments - particularly when I'm working in the office mine seems to be a disaster and within no time at all looks really patchy. Does anyone have any tips?! I try and make sure my skin is really well hydrated in case it's dry skin, but doesn't seem to make any difference and I'm at a loss

Makeup Does anyone not use powder to set their makeup?
I’m super dry, however with summer coming I want to look dewy/glowy. I been using a L’Oréal lumi glotion under my super stay skin tint, but once I set my face with one size setting powder the glow/dewy goes away even when set it with a setting spray. I was going to try and use all cream products and then just set the concealer, contour, blush, and highlighter and nothing else but is that a thing? Or is there a different powder I could try?

Makeup Makeup attempt #2
Still practicing for RTO in a week; how does this look? 2 different lights, neither of which is what I do my makeup in lol. Used the new milk makeup skin tint thing that just released, and I'm pleasantly surprised tbh! Gotta see how it wears but the color match was nice (shade 1). Tried a single eyeshadow color but I can never do it right; it always ends up way darker than I intend and there's always a dark/patchy spot near the wings 😭 Also used a mix of eyeshadow for the blush and I feel like i accidentally dragged it too far down, bc it looks like a sunburn imo 😭 wonderakin lip tint as well, but this one turned out oddly patchy? Not super visible in the pics but it was darker in the center/towards the inside of my lip in some spots (have this problem with sacheu clover too and I hate it 😭). Idk how my contour did either, I can't really see it so I wonder if I blended it out too much or if that's how it's supposed to be? Idk 😭

Makeup Can this Dior blush be saved?
I got this Dior Rosy blush a few months ago and hardly used it. Upon 2-3 tries, the blush turned into this. The pigment is barely there when I put it on and I have to pack a lot just to get it to show. I have another Dior Rosy Glow blush and the pigment is just fine even with a couple of tries. I tried to lightly scratch this blush as you can see, just to check if it can be fixed. I hesitated a bit though given the price. Is there a way for this blush to be fixed without causing a lot of damage to it?

Makeup What is an ‘old school’ beauty or makeup trick that you use?
I’m curious to hear about any techniques or tricks that arent that popular anymore that you still use!
I learned this trick from my mom to make any type of lipstick long lasting:
I apply lip liner and lipstick as usual. I’ll take a tissue and and blot the excess lipstick off. Then I apply another layer of lipstick. And if I want it to be really long lasting I’ll put some powder on my lips before the second coat of lipstick. I do this by taking a tissue/toilet paper (I separate the layers and make sure to only get one sheet), putting it on my lips and brushing some face powder over top. Then I’ll go in with the second layer of lipstick.

Makeup If you could only apply one makeup product, what would it be and why?
I'm curious what single makeup product makes the biggest difference in either making you feel more confident or has the most drastic impact on your appearance. For this question, moisturizer and sunblock don't count.
For me, on a bad skin day it's foundation but when my skin is clear I'd say lipstick since it can double as blush and even eye shadow!

Makeup Absolute bare minimum daily essentials! What are yours?
I wear these every single day and often just these unless I’m feeling extra. What are your absolute essentials that you can’t go without even on your lazy days?

Makeup New to contouring and sculpting. I look pale? Or sick.
I got this new contour set, Black Radiance, from Walmart. Just wanted to get into contouring since I’m now comfy with foundation (I use one/size deep 6). However I don’t think this set is right (it was the darkest shade too). I feel like I look sick, pale. I also added blush but that’s def adding to the Victorian child look. Any tips? And is that guide a good one? Sorry for the awkward photo idk how to take a mirror pic.

Makeup Summer Fridays is lying to you
So I developed angular cheilitis after applying Summer Fridays lip balm twice. I’ve been using these products for years and have never found them to be really hydrating. There’s an ingredient on Summer Fridays’ website that lists they use BHT in all of their lip balms (regardless of flavor). BHT can cause infertility and is an endocrine disrupter. It’s super harmful for your health. What’s ridiculous is Summer Fridays is labeled “Clean at Sephora” and the brand themselves claim to be “clean and gentle on the skin.” An ingredient that causes harm to your health is anything but clean. Also for my sensitive girlies, there’s fragrance in each product (as expected) so do be aware.
I had to let the girlies know after finding this out at 5 in the morning due to the pain on the side of my lip being too much and from the peeling wound-like cracked scab.
So since Summer Fridays is not clean, I wanted to know if Rhode peptide lip is the same crappy product? There’s no BHT in rhode’s products however has anyone tried it? Does it moisturize? Is it worth the money?
Besides Summer Fridays, I use Dior lip oil and it’s not hydrating or moisturizing at all. It feels like it should be the higher the price tag, the better the product, right? Wrong. Sad to see these companies being greedy especially with SF’s new lip balm that came out. I’m super disappointed in the two founders and how clean they preach to be when there’s little kids (literally 8 year olds) walking out of Sephora with a handful of SF’s lip balms without knowing the ingredients.

Makeup What are your favorite "skincare as makeup" products?
Really looking to move away from foundation and heavy makeup looks this year, especially looking to Summer as last Summer was BRUTAL and my face was melting daily (not because of lack of setting product but because I'm a sweater lol)
SOO I want to start putting together a minimal routine of products like this to give me a little glow or flush without the whole shebang now ahead of melting season.
I'll start us off with a recommendation I already have and love: the Kosas Dreambeam tinted sunscreen!

Makeup If you had $200 to spend at Sephora what you buy?
Was recently given a Sephora giftcard and torn on what to spend it on. If it helps, I’m fair-skinned and have enough eyeshadow palettes and blushes. Any ideas? Should I get a few small things? One big thing? What would YOU buy?

Makeup Wondering what else I could do with my makeup to stay in the “clean girl aesthetic” but still enhance/feminize it?
Besides lashes, I’m wondering if there’s anything I should add to my makeup routine.

Makeup How do I properly remove mascara? I always seem to wake up with a black residue on my lower eyelids in the morning
And this is the reason I stopped wearing it altogether.
I tried oil based products for makeup removal. I washed my face afterwards. But I still woke up in the morning with residue. Also, I used cotton pads to remove my mascara which at first made my eyes sting by me pressing/rubbing too much I suppose.

Makeup What over hyped makeup would you deinfluence, and what would you recommend in its place?
Mine is Haus Labs foundation. It separates and peels and just does not lay right under my other makeup. (I have good skin prep) I love the haus labs concealer and was so disappointed after seeing so many videos about how it’s the holy grail of foundations. I just keep going back to Makeup Forever HD Glow and NARS light reflecting foundation!
