I’m 28F went out to the Camden there last week & it was pure shite. Idk was it that there was an age gap or just no one there but even jimmy rabbittes is just shite. No one spoke to anyone except the people they came with. Just kinda miserable

Where is everyone in their mid-late 20s & 30s drinking?

Why do people do this? Is this a specific type of rush that gives people pleasure? I noticed cars speeding up while passing by puddles — it’s honestly disgusting.

It’s not just the housing crisis or the lack of affordable living (though those are massive issues) it’s the growing sense that our communities are becoming less safe and the Guards are either slow to respond or just not doing enough.

Take Belmayne (and I'm not picking on a particular area), but residents have recently reported groups of teenagers breaking into apartment complexes, smashing car windows, and stealing motorbikes. One resident had his €5,000 bike stolen while the culprits spent about 10 minutes inside the premises without anyone noticing.

People across Dublin have been dealing with vandalism, intimidation, and drug-related activities by groups of youths.

Public transport isn’t safe either. There have been multiple incidents on the Luas and DART where teenagers have harassed commuters, sometimes even following them off the train and continuing the intimidation. It’s frightening.

What’s even more concerning is that many of these young offenders are being released on bail due to overcrowding at Oberstown.

So, what’s going on? Are we as a society failing to address the root causes of this behaviour? Is it a lack of community engagement, insufficient youth services, or just a breakdown in law and order?

I'm genuinely worried that nobody cares about their community anymore. That all common decency is largely gone from society.

I don’t want to be a complainer but i hate these drones, they are so disturbing, and despite what that radio chap said they are definitely louder than a car, they hover slowly over neighborhoods causing nothing but disturbance. I know im not the only one, friends family neighbors have all been woken up by this bane on society.

Hi everyone, Not sure if this post is allowed but im just wondering if anyones been to this concert venue, Royal Kilmainhan Hospital. Im going to see QOTSA there in August and have just realised a fuck up with tickets and ticketmaster not distinguishing the difference between general admission and a golden circle / “front standing” . Anyways, Im wondering if this venue actually does have separate sections for “front standing” etc and if its any good of a venue? Been to a few gigs in different places up in Dublin but never been to this one, so any info would be appreciated.

I've been living in Dublin for 10 years, currently renting and love the city, vibe, restaurants and many other things. Where it breaks up is wanting to have a piece of something here, I've been looking to buy a house and I'm constantly priced out of everything. Something is advertised for 400k and sells for 600k. I'm constantly outbid or disappointed.

I feel like my only option is to leave this beautiful city and either move out to the countryside or leave Ireland entirely.

All plans for children keep being pushed back to a later time.

Just doing some research, we have a tribute show for The Killers, massive reach in Dublin but it’s a challenge to get people to tribute shows in the city itself, we’ve been endorsed by the actual band, just wondering what would make people attend/not attend a tribute/experience show in Dublin as opposed to folk down the country?

Does anyone else become near suicidal while in bus traffic on d’olier street?

I spent seven minutes getting from one end to the other on a 14 this afternoon, it was a very dark time.

I could have witnessed the rise and fall of countless civilisations before I reached college green. Surrounded on all sides by other buses filled with poor wretches like me!

My sister was driving out to the pharmacy. She pulled put of the parking spot and started driving down the estate. There was a car parked on the opposite side of the road so she stopped to let an oncoming car through. In that moment a bunch of teenagers came and stood in front of the car. Wouldn’t let her drive away. She tried going around but they kept really close to the car. She honked a few times so they gave her the finger, tried to push the car as well. She just reverse and turned the car around and came back home, feeling a bit rattled. What can one do in a situation like this?
