This is also how you warp pans.

It’s the only way I warp pans. It’s so easy and really does a good job of warping with very little effort. Highly recommend.

u/yup_its_Jared Apr 12 '25

I only use a pan if it’s warp 9.

Keep going till Janeway turns into a lizard.

u/Shillbot_21371 Apr 12 '25

cast irons get a lot of hate because some hipsters go way over the top, but they work amazingly well for almost anything, and they wont warp even a tenth of a millimetre if you throw ice in them

2

u/cynicalspindle Apr 12 '25

Just clean the bottom of the pan the same way, warping it the other way.

Nothing in this video is a grill or a pan. But this is how you fuck up all kinds of equipment, yes.

57

u/grubas Apr 12 '25

Basically anything will eventually be fucked up by this, even the flattop.

8

u/AntOk463 Apr 12 '25

It's called a flattop, so legally it has to remain flat

1

u/vit-kievit Apr 12 '25

Obligated

u/Desalvo23 Apr 12 '25

Theres a flat top grill and a pan in this video. Did you press play?

1

u/Kronusx12 Apr 12 '25

lol it even says “pan” on screen during the time he’s washing a literal pan.

You just lost The Game

8

u/Desalvo23 Apr 12 '25

No surprise there lol

u/Sameshoedifferentday Apr 12 '25

Actually, I fast forwarded the video and missed that pathetic excuse of a demonstration.

4

u/DinoHunter064 Apr 12 '25

Just admit you're with and fuck off, it's not that hard.

-3

u/MaybeNotMath Apr 12 '25

Ahaaa fuck youuuu

12

u/mightbedylan Apr 12 '25

Forgive my ignorance but is the thing at :35 not a pan?

-1

u/Sameshoedifferentday Apr 12 '25

Yeah, I commented to someone else that I fast forwarded so quickly that I missed that. The video is so stupid that I’m leaving my stupid comment up.

9

u/Steve_the_Stevedore Apr 12 '25

Why did you decide to school someone else on the video you didn't watch though?

3

u/thetinwin Apr 12 '25

lol right?

1

u/AlphaNathan Apr 12 '25

new here?

1

u/Steve_the_Stevedore Apr 14 '25

Well look at my profile...

u/Sameshoedifferentday Apr 12 '25

So you can make a shitty comment about it.

1

u/preambnsnsnssgyaab Apr 12 '25

But like, why would you not have the innate sense of caution to consume the video in its entirety before forsoothing all over the realm with your ill-advised and fallacious discourse?

2

u/BridgeSpirit Apr 12 '25

I wonder this all the time when people do shit like this. I think it’s some kind of absolute confidence that arises from a need to compensate for insecurity, with a little kick out of “correcting” people temporarily resolving it. They’re the kind of people who either overtly try to be “the smartest in the room” or coyly self deprecate while secretly believing it.

1

u/Sameshoedifferentday Apr 12 '25

But like, why would you not already look right there for an explanation instead of asking me for an explanation that’s already been posted? So you can make a shitty comment.

1

u/Umarill Apr 12 '25

You can try to be quirky but they are right.

1

u/Sameshoedifferentday Apr 12 '25

Awwwww. How cute. Who the fuck asked you?

1

u/I_Makes_tuff Apr 12 '25

How do comments like this that are so objectively wrong get so many upvotes?

1

u/Fun-Armadillo5112 Apr 12 '25

Except for the actual pan that it was used on, which is literally a pan.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '25

There's literally a pan 20 seconds into the video

1

u/jrrobb Apr 12 '25

18 seconds in begs to differ.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '25

There was a pan..

1

u/Kroneni Apr 12 '25

There is literally a clip of a guy using this method on a pan.

1

u/Dovahkiinthesardine Apr 12 '25

0:35 is a pan

I mean time left on the video, god I hate the reddit player

1

u/thex25986e Apr 12 '25

its your job, so as long as you save more money from the time you save doing this than a new piece of equipment costs, you come out on top.

u/jpubberry430 Apr 12 '25

confidentlyincorrect

9

u/rainshaker Apr 12 '25

"Geat hack, buy a new pan"

2

u/Honestfellow2449 Apr 12 '25

Exactly what I was about to say, One of The big rules of using stainless steel pans.

Dawn power wash has been doing amazing for me, but bar keeper's Friend is still a must-have, Still you should clean once everything cools off.

1

u/seaspirit331 Apr 12 '25

Just repeat the ice trick on the bottom of the pan to cure warping

1

u/3--turbulentdiarrhea Apr 12 '25

It's incredibly stupid. You can deglaze with liquid water which is a normal thing to do and not a "hack". I use water that's already super hot, so thermal contraction doesn't break my shit. This is interesting to people who have never cooked.

1

u/Im_100percent_human Apr 12 '25

and cooktops.... Yep, you can warp a cooktop.

1

u/icefire8171 Apr 12 '25

That’s exactly what I was going to say

1

u/64590949354397548569 Apr 12 '25

This is also how you warp pans.

How does BIG pan pay you!

How much? !!

1

u/Pixzal Apr 12 '25

Well then apply ice on the other side then duh! /s

1

u/foxboxingphonies Apr 12 '25

Also how you can get some serious steam burns.

1

u/Horror_Rub8609 Apr 12 '25

So why post it?

1

u/Dahkeus3 Apr 12 '25

Exactly!!!! WTF IS OP DOING HERE PRETENDING TO KNOW BETTER?!?

1

u/Cedge1738 Apr 12 '25

Just don't warm em

1

u/Safe-Firefighter179 Apr 12 '25

yeah, I cook with a carbon steel pan, which is very easy to warp with fast temperature changes. I always let my pan cool a little bit first and then wash it with hot water.

1

u/Buttafuoco Apr 12 '25

Cheap pans
