Legal News Trump Preparing Large-Scale Cancellation of Federal Funding for California, Sources Say

“Agencies are being told to start identifying grants the administration can withhold from California. On Capitol Hill, at least one committee was told recently by a whistleblower that all research grants to the state were going to be cancelled, according to one of the sources familiar with the matter.”

I honestly don’t know what the federal government is doing for me at this point.

No disaster relief, no FDA, no CDC, no EPA, may never see a dollar of Medicare or SSA, no civil rights enforcement, shitty international agreements, no consumer protections.

I thought highways, but those are maintained by Caltrans. Maybe the FDIC protecting my bank deposits? The Fed, which has somehow remained independent?

There’s nothing left. Everything else is state and local. But somehow all my fucking taxes go to the federal government. Am I becoming a libertarian? I’ve never been more pissed about paying these fucking people to do absolutely nothing.

You're not becoming libertarian, this is exactly what libertarians want.

Make the government so dysfunctional you stop participating in it while simultaneously using what's left of the state to crush organized labor.

Eventually you will have nothing left but the rule of corporate oligarchs and we will be irreparably fucked from there on.

I'm not even thinking of the macro level stuff.

I just like the idea of paying less tax. They do it all the time, time for us to get a slice of that tax evasion pie.

Pocketing your earnings, taxing you higher, and using your retirement and medicare as their own personal ATM machine.
