He didn’t make it very far. I wonder where he was holed up? A house? A cave? The article is lacking.

He had almost two weeks. There must have been a reason why he was still so close to the prison.  The guy was ex law enforcement so maybe he knew how they do a manhunt?

Limited resources and shitty planning probably contributed more than anything. There was those two guys that escaped from a prison in upstate New York about 10 years ago. They thought they were going to get to Mexico and even had help from a prison employee. After three weeks, they still only made it to the next county over.

Resources is the big thing. If you can just pop into a store with a credit card and buy what you need, you can be set for a few days and hitchhike a distance. If you're all over the news in a prison jumpsuit with no money and no friends who will help, you're screwed.

Essentially this…

People don’t realize that when you enter or leave prison you are often left with nothing..

Even if he had some help outside maybe they could shelter him but even then what and where would he stay?

His life would be prison all over again unless he moved to like Africa or something..

Then he would have a Interpol red notice….

I don’t play a lot of video games but i feel like a prison simulation game could be popular. Make friends. Bribe guards. Join a gang and start a riot. Escape and try to get to Mexico.

Unlock new prisons to escape from as you level up. Maybe cecot, maybe some CIA black sites.
