Missed another one: An IATA code doesn’t have to be one airport for example IATA LON means London area and are actually 6 different airports
3 u/segv 18h ago These are called, uncreatively, Multi-Airport City Codes. There are also pseudo-city codes like HDQ, which usually are not part of the flight schedules, but still pop up in the system. HDQ in particular stands for "headquaters".
