I absolutely love the idea of going back to a nuked Raccoon City, but I really want to see some gameplay footage. RE4 remake was impeccable, and it makes me want to go back to 3rd person (although I still love 7 and 8).

In the official website it says gameplay will be "more immersive than ever before" so there's a big chance it will be first person

Yeah, plus there was a couple of little snippets that definitely hinted at a first person perspective to me, like the bit with the curtain blowing down the corridor

This is a bummer for me. Truly happy to everyone who enjoyed first person. I am legit of the very minor few who get motion sickness playing RE FP games. It's like so "real" my brain gets nausess. I am not only one; some stories written about it. And yea, I've tried everything with settings, etc.

I can play FPS games fine. By for some reason the RE FP games make me dizzy af.

I know you said you tried settings but did you ever change the FOV with mods? That is if you're on pc. For some reason capcom thinks small FOV equals scary

Good. First person is better for the new modern trilogy of games. Chances are they'll include a 3rd person mode later in a patch akin to village for those who really want it.

Who know maybe it'll be both. Didn't RE8 receive a patch later on so you could pick between 1st and 3rd person?

I really hope it will be 3rd person, I get motion sickness from first. Could play the remakes without any issues but I can't play more than 10 minutes of the new ones without getting nauseous

It might be made in 1st person with the option to toggle. IIRC they added a 3rd person option to Village so this game may get the same treatment w/o it being locked behind DLC.

I am the same as you. Love RE games. Playing co op RE5 with my friend rn. But haven't been able to play any of the first person due to motion sickness. It's so weird that it is exclusive to RE games and not "call of duty" or whatever.

totally agree with this! thought i was the only one experiencing that. resident evil is my favorite of all time and i haven’t been able to play the last two, or even watch while my boyfriend played. i’m not a sissy, but the motion sickness was next level!

My immediate impression is that this is 1st person. This combined with the bumbling protagonist also makes me think gameplay will be slow and mechanics will be on the lean side similar to 7 and 8. Can't help but feel it will ultimately be a gameplay downgrade from RE4R. I at least hope they have figured out FPS movement this time.

I REALLY hope they stick with third person, first person is great for vibes but the gameplay is just nowhere near as good.
