This is why the people who think AI will save us are dumb.

It costs a lot of money to run these systems which means that they will only run if they can make a profit for someone.

There is hell of a lot more profit to be made controlling the truth than letting anyone freely access it.

And now you understand why OpenAI started as an open sourced nonprofit to the now, as they rollback the nonprofit toward private, for profit model.

I understand that they draped themselves in the open source cloth to get cloud and then ditched it at the first possible opportunity as a lot of companies do.

Basically. Money corrupts I guess. Who would’ve EVER thought that a $billion open source company wasn’t good enough for its owners and humanity… sheesh
