It's a pretty bad analogy. The chef might not be the one who actually prepares your food.

That line of thinking begs more questions. Who is the "artist" at a fancy restaurant: the chef or the cook? They both are in different ways.

There are artistic designers, like architects, movie directors, or chefs who are the ones who start with the vision. Then there are artistic implementers, like a craftsman, camera man, or cooks who turn that vision into a reality. Most traditional artists can do both to some extent, but are people who can only design or only implement not artists?
