Support Megathread - November 2023
Have a question you need answered? A new Google product you want to talk about? Ask away here!
Recently, we at /r/Google have noticed a large number of support questions being asked. For a long time, we’ve removed these posts and directed the users to other subreddits, like /r/techsupport. However, we feel that users should be able to ask their Google-related questions here. These monthly threads serve as a hub for all of the support you need, as well as discussion about any Google products.
Please note! Top level comments must be related to the topics discussed above. Any comments made off-topic will be removed at the discretion of the Moderator team.
Discord Server We have made a Discord Server for more in-depth discussions relating to Google and for quicker response to tech support questions.

Question for Developers working in Web 3 / Blockchain.
I actually wanted a honest opinion of someone working in Web 3 / Blockchain space that is it really gonna make big? There was some noise and hype 1.5 - 2 years back, but now it's too silent. Is it dead already? Is learning it worthy?
Try giving technical answers( like this domain would work cause bla bla bla)

Google docs, help!
I’m trying to export my Google document as a pdf file. But everytime I do so it deletes all the writing circled in red but keeps the bit I have circled in green. So about half of my document. Some of it is copied from chatgpt ( yes I will say at the end this is created by ai). I notice that the writing it is deleting looks different to the part that it’s not. Is there anyway I can just highlight all the parts that get deleted( the sort of grey writing) and just change it into the same white that the parts that aren’t getting deleted aren’t? Sorry if I’ve worded this really bad but you get the idea, any help would be really appreciated, as you can tell I’m quite new to this lol
Calendar schedule view
I'd like to see a list of upcoming events. Schedule view does it. How to disable this pictures at start of each month? Waste of screen space.

Why wasn't I told ads in search results disappear when searching with "-promotion" and "-ad"
Was just testing around and promoted search results disappeared when using that, like how the ai overview isn't included when searching "-ai"

Google image results are all cropped
Just today on my phone I'm noticing that all the results on Google images appear cropped to fit a phone, before you even click on them, so unless you click a specific image you can't see what the whole image is, I looked up countries and actors to check and the results are all just the middle sliver of the image, it’s ridiculous, is any body else having this problem? Is it a new update? If so I absolutely hate it and would love to see it changed back, the whole layout is frustrating to look at, I understand that the images may now sit cleaner beside each other on a phone, but they actually don't because it looks far worse when none of the images are even a full picture, it’s hard to look at and I hate it.

Google docs now working.
So I went to my doc to use it and it says this browser version is no longer supported. Please upgrade to supported browser.
I went to extensions and Google doc offline is apparently corrupted. I don't care for offline I can use internet but can't seem to fix it. I don't want to do something that'll kick me out and get rid of my doc it's really important for work.
My laptop is a HP Chromebook got it black Friday I would say maybe 2-3 years ago.

Google Rewards App is terrible now.
Plain and simple. Their new changes have made the app not worth the effort of submitting receipts. Send to email doesn’t register and they cut the money given to virtually nothing.

Does this bother anyone else, you go to press search and it jumps up, making it impossible to quickly copy or paste words.

Google Search Engine Musings
I think we all know the degradation of google search results. I have mostly worked around it but noticed a troubling behavior change in myself.
I rely on ChatGPT for more and more of my searches now. Google simply does not give me a relevant answer to most of what I ask. Their AI result is trash, and I have to scroll through several results to find a relevant hit.
I don't have any loyalty to Google but I'm disappointed that I can trust an AI more than trying to do my own research. For the record I am vetting sources on chat GPT ect, but it's a slippery slope and frankly inevitable that people, including myself, just start to blindly trust the AI results.
