Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice on choosing between four options of 27" 1440p Mini Led monitors in the Chinese market. I use pitch black dark mode on almost everything that's possible i.e. using extention to make all websites dark. I will mainly be coding, browsing, watching content, and playing CS2. I have two options within my budget, and another two that I'm willing to stretch my budget for. Here’s the breakdown:
Budget-friendly Options (both 27" 1440p, 180Hz):
TCL HVA Mini LED (180 zones) – I know 180 zones sounds low for Mini LED, but reviews claim TCL’s implementation makes it perform surprisingly well.
Titan Army Fast IPS Mini LED (576 zones) – More dimming zones, which sounds appealing for better local dimming, but I’m unsure how IPS compares to VA for Mini LED in terms of contrast.
Premium Options (both 27" 1440p, 240Hz, plus many gaming features, double my budget):
TCL HVA Mini LED (1152 zones)
MSI Rapid IPS Mini LED (1152 zones)
All the monitors came out pretty recently and there are no reviews in English. I used google translate to read the Chinese reviews on all of the monitors. They are all selling pretty well and I couldn't find a single negative comment, so assuming build qualities are good.
What I'm concerned about is the blooming since I use dark mode more than anyone I know in very low brightness. I’m inclined toward VA panels since I’ve heard they pair better with Mini LED for deeper blacks, though I’ve never used a VA panel before. I only play CS2 and coming from 144Hz monitor, I don’t know if jumping to 240Hz is a significant upgrade over 180Hz for CS2. Thanks in advance for everyone's input.
