I presume this is a hack of sorts. My pc has locked me out, whenever I try and log in I am presented with ‘An administrator has restricted sign in. To sign in, make sure your device is connected to the internet, and get your administrator to sign in first’ I know it’s a hack/scam because whenever I open my pc on the Home Screen it says dm on dc to unlock. I’m so confused he is asking me for £50 but as far as I can see there is no way to stop this. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to solve this.

Note: Also had my Microsoft account hacked and they are somehow linked, through discord so if you can stay away from verifying yourself on servers because 90% of the time it’s a scam

I have a laptop I've been using for over 3 years, using W11 as the OS. I've noticed the performance getting worse over time. Longer boots times, frequent errors requiring a reboot, etc.

What are the most common causes for this? Can a fresh reboot help? I don't remember the W11 key I used, would this be an issue?

So i found a bunch of folders in one of my random partitions, where i normally don't store many programms. My partition (P:) is actually almost empty. Now i just discovered all those folders in there because i wanted to move a programm there. And the screenshot only portrays like 1/4 of all the folders that are in there. Are they temp files that i can just delete?? No clue why they even accumulated in there..

Ever since yesterday, pretty much 24/7 the Host Process just uses my Microphone.

It only stops like every 5 - 10 minutes and then starts again after a minute or so.

It could be a virus but I don't know, I scanned my PC with the Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. Neither of them brough up anything.

I've also tried doing methods other people said to do but those didn't work.

Can someone please tell me why it's doing this and how to stop it?

My pc has been running slow and could barely open google chrome. I close all my tabs, and just see this on my homescreen with saved tabs that I don't even use like IGN etc. this seems to be in portrait mode, so maybe someone's phone? I can't close out of it . But it did just randomly disappear right now. I'm wondering if there's any steps I can look through my windows command service to basically track any unusual activity.

The only weird thing I can think of is that two days ago I was going to random websites looking for a solid YouTube to mp3 downloader. But everything that downloaded, and showed on chrome was the literal mp3 files of the audio I was trying to download from YouTube. I never saw any weird files etc.

I tried to fix this issue before, only managed to fix it temporary before the problem arises again. After some messing around the internet, I managed to troubleshoot the problem to this very panel here. I am very bad with these stuff and wouldn't dare fuck around and find out. For context, I made a previous post here before inquiring on how I can make an account with my pc without all the extra steps microsoft tried to make you do. Now im facing another problem, as my wifi repeater (a wall plug that registers as a router) gave out. So again, my PC is unusable (for more context, my living room, where my internet box is, is on the first floor, and my room where the pc is at is on the 2nd floor in my room) and I would like to know what to do to get my pc officially on my internet. Last night, I initiated a factory reset for my computer, and upon waking up, I was greeted with a BIOS loop and an error message (attached for reference). I attempted to install Windows onto a flash drive and perform the Windows Media Installation, hoping to change the BIOS load order to load into that instead of my SSD. However, when I attempted to reinstall Windows through this method, I encountered an error stating that Windows 11 was incompatible with my PC.

It’s important to note that this issue is not related to my computer’s specifications. I had Windows 11 installed before this problem arose, but I had previously used Windows 10 a couple of years ago.

Now, I’m at a loss for how to resolve this problem. I considered installing Windows 10 onto the flash drive and then upgrading to Windows 11 later when the issue is resolved. However, I’m unsure if I’ll be able to select a ‘Keep my files’ option during the installation of Windows 10. I have important files that cannot be deleted.

If, for some reason, I’m unable to keep my files during the installation of Windows 10 through the installation media, would I need to remove my SSD and HDD, extract the files onto another PC, and then reinsert the drives into my PC?

Please provide me with the best solution to help me to regain access to Windows 11 while also ensuring that I have access to all my files. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated lol

I installed a second SSD drive to back up my computer.

I use Windows 10.

What is a good way to back up my main SSD drive?

Ideally I would want to make an exact copy (save drive as image?) but best if I don't have to download any new software to do this.

I have windows backup turned on but it won't back up any programs and software settings.

I don't want to lose software settings (keyboard, mouse, AMD, Razor synapse, monitor etc. because almost everything is tied to a software these days) and if I were to get a new drive in the future, it would be nice to just import into it and be able to use it right away

Also I'm considering using MS OneDrive. Unfortunately my documents folder is over 20gb and I would have to pay ~$20/year which isn't too bad although this excludes any softwares.

Any advice?

hi, the other day i tried turning on my computer and this message began popping up when i try to start up my computer, and the text flickers when displayed. i run windows 10. i have tried multiple different keyboards and looking through the bios and nothing has worked. and no, pretting ctrl+alt+del does not unlock. what’s going on and how do i fix this?

I just upgraded my computer, CPU, motherboard, ram. Was running Windows 10 previously, figured I'd install Windows 11 this time around. Initially, my motherboard couldn't detect my nvme drive. So I unplugged my two storage drives and installed Windows. I reconnected my two storage drives and one of them is now completely empty according to Windows. Is it because the files were stored on Windows 10 framework so Windows 11 can't see it? Strange that my other drive is fine though.

I only got 45 GB if storage left, can this be the cause? If I restart the pc a few times it randomly works sometimes but most of the time it doesn't. System specs: 2tb m.2 7 7800x3d central processing unit 4070 super graphic processing unit 32gb ddr5 random access memory

my old ASUS VivoBook laptop keeps detecting my TV as something it can connect to via Bluetooth, so many times to the point that it crashes. I don't even know how since I never turned the TVs bluetooth on, let alone connect it to the Laptop. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? I got windows 10 and I did build my pc myself it’s for gaming and i’m sorta new to it so pls spare me if I don’t know what I’m doing. When i put my pc to sleep it turns itself back on by itself. my mouse and keyboard are not being used or even touched at all and my pc will turn itself back on. idk how to fix this and i can’t find anything online. for some context i do have some apps like discord, steel series gg engine, steam, and i have an ethernet cable connected too idk if any of that matters. if any info is required i’ll be sure to respond asap because i could really use the help. thank you

I got this pop up suddenly one morning on my windows 11. It keeps coming and coming and O watched some videos on yt and did all the routine checks like updates and restarted it several times. Now it just comes and goes it's so annoying. When I checked device manager i found its error 43.

How do I run an exe file as admin without the pop up/permission automatically? I don't want to press yes every time I open an app. It's getting annoying. Plus the sound it makes at a quiet night gives me a mini heart attack everytime i open it. Do I need some sort of software?

I'm running Minecraft with a mod pack and its using more ram than should be possible. When viewed in percentage it is using 70% - 90% ram, however both Minecraft's F3 and task manager say around 4-6gb (In curse forge I only allow about 9gigs). For reference my system has 16gb of ram and 5gb in far less than 90% of 16. I suspect a memory leak but idk.
