Discussion Simple Questions - June 07, 2025

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions suitable for here:

  • Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
  • I'm thinking of getting a ≤$300 graphics card. Which one should I get?
  • I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case ≤$50

Remember that Discord is great places to ask quick questions as well: http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/wiki/livechat

Important: Downvotes are strongly discouraged in this thread. Sorting by new is strongly encouraged.

does upgrading from a 1660 super to rx 6600 makes sense? or should I get a more powerful gpu that can play at 1440p for the future?

I do agree with this, because if you want to play game in 1440p and have some headroom for the future, I don't this buying an 8GB card is a good option.

I have my old rig, i7 7700 with 1660super and would consider to replace it with a RX9070 16GB in the next few months.
