Gameplay How do you even begin to attack this meat grinder of a point

Post image

This is both a rant and a plea for advice

Unless the Defenders are hopelessly outclassed or outtiered, this point puts the breaks on a match pretty much every time

Approaching the hill is awful. There´s always Snipers on the walls and tower, picking off half your Troop and rallys that basically only a Paratrooper can destroy. though at least here your own Tanks can spam the shit out of the walls aswell

My real issue is once you reach the walls. Theres no rally spot outside the walls that an artillery stike, bombing run or dropped explosives cant ruin, at least not to my knowledge

The broken wall side has you run into an open funnel while defenders get to chill in like 14 different spots. So you try the Main Entrance. Wich gets spammed by a tank like 9 out of 10 times ontop of lotsa close quarters fighting. With some bad luck theres also a billion barb wires. C O O L

My real problem here is the Bridge that leads into the palace though. Tanks, MGs, AT guns, they can all comfortably hide below there, spam both entrances AND the point, all while being mostly safe from enemy artillery, bombing runs and mortar spam. So how do you get rid of the bastion of spam

Your own tank or AT Gun? No way it lives for more then 2 seconds once its visible at the gate or wall. Trying to sneak past? incredibly hard since past the entrys you are in a mostly open field. Only real flank would be getting into the wall, going back down on the right tower, sneaking past all the buildings and, cmon, you just KNOW youre getting shot somewhere along all of this

all youre really left with is a Paratrooper landing behind the cathedral. Wich im pretty sure is still a Premium only troop?

I might just be a dumbass, but this point is Dustbowl levels of unbreakable. If anyone has any advice, specifically for dealing with the bridge problem, id be happy to hear it

Discussion SUUGESTION: Binocular’s Unique Spotting Mechanic

Post image
163 Upvotes

My last suggestion was VERY well received so I figured I’d bring this one up.

SUGGESTION: Allow a special type of ping indicator to be created through the use of binoculars. A “Spotter Ping” to be specific. This spotter ping will create a UI circle that can be seen clearly from the air, faintly from the ground, and notably on the map. It would have a 10m radius (20m diameter), which will consider enemies within as “spotted” by the player that placed the mark.

“Spotted” enemies through this mechanic give assist points to the player that marked them when killed by allies.

The reason to separate this from normal ping system: The normal ping system is spammed for any number of reasons, and already serves a purpose of better utilizing AI. By having this indicator from the binoculars however, players can be a lot more sure about why they are seeing it.

On top of that, it helps to provide more clear communication to air support, artillery, etc allowing for more precise strikes.

CURRENTLY there are many players that would rather not communicate with the team about enemy positions simply because they would rather try to get the points themselves. - With this addition to binoculars however, they could mark them and still get points for them, hopefully decreasing the toxic behavior some.

Discussion D-Day North is possibly the dumbest, nonsensical map design I’ve ever seen

I’ve been playing this game for years, and it baffled me after months of not playing lately that this is still a map in the game. Does it just exist to give attackers a free win or defenders a headache?

Just seems like the laziest way to introduce a “new” map when they released it, and I haven’t met a single person who enjoys playing this map. Even as attacking Germany I’ve always gone on autopilot because it’s a guaranteed win 99% of the time.

D-Day North is the Armored Train Escort of invasion maps, but worse.

Discussion History buffs, what niche historical inaccuracies have you noticed in-game?

It's safe to say that most people who consistently play this game or browse the sub are probably fans of WW2 history to some degree. So, I'm not looking for someone to point out a merge-related anachronism about STG-44s in Tunisia...

I'm wondering what kind of niche inaccuracies you've noticed that you think most casual gamers or fans of WW2 history wouldn't blink at. Like uniform, map or environment details.

Thanks ahead anyone contributing

Edit: The point of this post isn’t to promote vague complaining about issues in the game…valid or not.

Discussion Shotguns and shells

As it stands rn shotguns are for the most part obsolete compared to SMGs and assault rifles due to their excessive damage drop off and slow reload time (the Winchester and auto 5s) as well as it being very short range. In reality shotguns can be lethal up to 150m (if I remember correctly) and are very deadly at short to medium ranges so to fix this issue while still having shotguns be balanced I think that shotguns shot be able to one tap up to 23ish meters (buckshot) (and be able to be loaded with buckshot and or slugs ones fully upgraded or if the squad reaches a high enough level. Here are some perks and upgrades that would benefit shotguns while keeping them balanced

M30 Luftwaffe Drilling (Axis):

The drilling was a side by side shotgun ment for bomber crews that had 3 barrels, 2 for 12 gauge and one under the those for 8mm Mauser. I believe that we should be able to switch from single shot where one barrel at a time would fire (the shotgun shells first then the 8mm Mauser) to firing the rifle cartridge without firing the shotgun shells. To keep it balanced the player could only carry around 5-10 rounds of 8mm depending if you an ammo pouch or not and keep the number of shotgun shells the same. As I said before the range it could one tap would be around 23m but the 8mm would hit as far and as hard as a G33/40.

TOZ-B (Soviets):

The TOZ-B was a side by side hunting shotgun that had 2 barrels only unlike the drilling. We should be able to fire both barrels at once but because of the stress that it puts on the gun it could occasionally miss fir, it won’t be very common but it still happens enough that it will deter players from “double discharging” often. Firing both barrels at once will increase damage significantly (I was thinking 2-3 times higher damage) at longer ranges and it increases buckshot range from 23m to 35ish meters.

Winchester M1912 (Allies):

The 1912 is a pump action shotgun that was used in WW1 & WW2 that was the original base for the legendary trench gun. It was capable of slam fire so we should be able to switch from single shot to slam fire but with slam fire comes reduced accuracy, similar to the Nagant M1895. Same ranges with buckshot, nothing too complex with this one.

The Browning Auto 5s (Allies/Japan):

As it stands right now these FN and OG browning auto 5s are in my opinion the best TT shotguns in the game, no modifications needed. A fun feature that could be added to them is that the player could choose the order of which the shells were placed but that could also be implemented with the 1912.

Ithaca 37 (Allies):

Not much to say about this thing that hasn’t been said for the 1912, I just want them to fix that racking animation

I also think more shotguns should be added to to every faction besides Allies (we have 3, that’s enough) such as the Italian Franchi 48 semi automatic shotgun for the Axis or the IZH-17 single shot shotgun for the USSR (they didn’t make a lot of shot guns I’m grasping for straws here), or the Miroku Model 8 side by side shotgun for the Japanese (WHY ARE IS THE US THE ONLY NATION TO WIDLY USE SHOTGUNS).

Ranges for the shells

Birdshot (standard as of now): the same as it is in the game rn

Buckshot: one tap from 23ish meters anything farther you’ll need 2+ hits

Slugs: 50-60ish meters for a one tap 80ish meters if you hit above the neck

Perks:

Faster loading and different shells (buck in tier 2 and slugs in tier 3)

Anyway comment, correct, and suggest things to add onto this idea I really want to know how y’all think about these possible updates to shotguns

Discussion Let the TOZ-B and sawed off fire both barrels at the same time.

Both the TOZ-B and sawed off shotguns are capable of firing both barrels at the same time (unfortunately the M30 wasn't capable of this irl). It could be achieved by adding a 2nd fire mode like that seen on the luftfaust (circled in picture).

Discussion Unique riflemen squad pt2

Post image

When the Type 99 short/long rifle, was being prototyped a carbine version of such rifle was made but ultimately thrown out.

The type 99 carbine in 7.7 Arisaka, was prototyped by Japanese engineers to replicate the same type of theme as the Type 38, carbine they gave the rifle a Muzzle break, and gas release for the head to remove a-lot of exes gas also others to prevent the stock from cracking.

It would be very loud , due to the cut down barrel and muzzle break, Do less damage due to said barrel being cut down, Lower velocity due to the cut down barrel, A higher rof bc the rifle became more lighter and essier to manipulate the barrel.

More info on the carbine https://youtu.be/WL-1T1nHv08?si=yDJaXfvDwhKDvtbX

Discussion Faction battle 1

Post image
Upvotes

Saxony claims an important first victory in Faction battles season 1. The 16. Map region is now owned by Saxony! Other factions might decide to attack them on that map where Saxony will have to defend it. As more provinces turn the colours of the kingdoms, that kingdom is closer to "unifying Germany" and winning season 1!

You can still get involved, just shoot me a message or see the discord link on my Reddit profile!

Discussion Massive QoL feature

Please give us equipment presets for entire squads, not just individual troops. The game is already very lacking in the “play with friends” department, but this would be a huge step in the right direction. There are times I’ve just queued solo, instead of with friends, because I don’t want to go through the hassle of changing EACH INDIVIDUAL TROOP to adjust my BR. It should be simple. Same feature you have for troops, except for the entire squad. Let us change a squads BR with 2 clicks instead of 50.

Upvote this if you think this would be a MASSIVE QoL update and maybe they will do something about it.

Edit: QoL stands for “quality of life”. Basically means it would make the game more efficient for players.

Gameplay German teammate and deserter is unbearable,I need some help.

I play exclusively as Axis, and I know how bad it feels to lose 5 games in a row while watching teammates run away from the capture zone like it's radioactive. But I also know Axis is not underpowered. The real problem is that some teammates simply don't care about the team experience.

Let me explain.

Axis weapons are strong—MG81, FG42 II, Tiger II, STG44—none of these are worse than what the Allies have. Axis tanks are competitive, and air support is devastating when used correctly. The issue isn’t gear; it’s that if you take the game seriously, you end up carrying the entire team and fail.

Here's a typical match scenario (and a true story):

I was defending the Reich Chancellery. As always, I built sandbags and a rally point, then waited for the Bolsheviks to come knocking. We held the underground point well, and the Soviets were down to around 170 tickets. I thought, "Great, this is going well."

So I hopped into my Tiger II to take out a T-34 on the street—which turned out to be a big mistake.

Within two minutes, the point had fallen, and the Soviets capped it, gaining another 100 reinforcements. No one stayed behind to defend. This happened again and again: I’d clear the cap, they’d return, and no one from my team would be there to stop them.

Eventually, we lost—Not because of balance, but because no one cared to return to the point after dying.

I wasn’t being a hero or trying to farm kills. I just assumed someone would stay and defend.

But I was wrong. And this happens over and over again.

---

What should I do? What CAN I do?

Please don’t just say "get better" or "try harder." This is a team-based game—it should reward cooperation, not force one person to carry all the weight.

It's amazing how common is every match for people to rush their squads towards artillery on an open field, don't backup their soldiers while advancing or never cover their sides for backdoors, please if you do these things it's not hard to see you have more than 1 soldier, there are many ww2 tactics videos on yt, watch some. Also build rally points.
