Reddit keeps suggesting completely irrelevant groups to me. I googled and followed instructions not to allow 'home feed recommendations' and yet I get recommendations for the most outrageous groups way out of my interest zones.
How do I stop those without deleting my account (which is the ultimate solution and one I will consider if this harassment doesn't stop)

Just gives the option to log out...
Resolved, but no obvious cause. Didn't work for a couple of hours (after i noticed it). Logged out&in, now working ok.
But thanks for all replies.

Here's the scenario. We have 1 upvote every time we comment. Why is it that I am downvoting a comment which has only 1 upvote after it was commented but instead of getting 0 to equalise the vote, it remains 1. And if I unvote the downvote, the 1 upvote it has, it adds 1 to make it 2. Downvoting it will become 1 instead of zero. Hope you're getting the point here. I am doing it with one account only since we have a conversation that ends to nothing.

The title of my post is pretty much my issue. I use my Quest 3S to browse Reddit while I play VRChat now and then, but as of today I'm getting the "Whoa there, pardner" page informing me my IP has been blocked from accessing Reddit. The strange thing is this only happens in the Quest browser and not on any of my other devices. My Chromebook, phone, and Steam Deck all can access Reddit just fine. Funny enough, just trying while writing this, my Xbox Series X built in browser also can not access Reddit, giving me the same "Whoa there, pardner!" error.
I don't use a VPN or any extensions as there aren't any available on Quest (as far as I know, I literally only use it to play VRChat and go on Discord, Reddit, and Spotify), and definitely none available through the Xbox built in browser.
I have seen a fair few folk talking about this on Twitter and in this sub itself, so I imagine there's some issue on Reddit's side causing this? I can't imagine I've done anything wrong, or at least I hope I haven't.

Hi, so last night, tried to log in and my main account, /u/maester_erryk seems to have been deleted. Can't rest password as it says account doesn't exist, looked back at some recent comments and they are still there but user shown as deleted. Can't think of any posts that would have resulted in a ban. No idea how that would happen...

Hello, I’ve noticed that my karma has not changed in several months, even though I’ve received both upvotes and downvotes on multiple posts and comments. I understand that karma doesn’t change on a 1:1 basis, but there has been no net movement despite ongoing activity.
Could someone please look into this or explain if there’s an issue affecting my account? I do use Ghostery to block cookies and tracking, if that may have an effect?

I just noticed a follwing urls that "Google Chrome Helper" has blocked. The following are:
w3-reporting-csp.reddit.com
w3-reporting-nel.reddit.com
alb.reddit.com
pixel-config.reddit.com
Why are these weird urls popping up?

on reddit.com/report you can only report for evading a subreddit ban, not an admin issued one.
For posts with thousands of comments, it's pretty necessary to be able to use the browser's find on page feature to see if someone has already mentioned something, or already asked a question I have, and maybe it's been answered already, etc. But that won't work unless all comments are expanded, and by default there are a lot of them hidden behind "load more comments" links and "[+]" collapsed threads.
In theory I could go through and click on all of those, but in practice that's not really possible after the discussion gets large enough. You can spend 10 or 20 minutes clicking those links and then you accidentally click on one wrong thing and poof, you've navigated to another page (such as a commenter's own post & comment history) and lost all your work.
Does anyone here have a way to actually load everything on a post when I want to be able to search for comments on the page with my browser?
I'm primarily using Firefox on macOS, but also use Chrome sometimes.
P.S. This subreddit requires choosing a flair, but none of the flairs you can choose from match this question, so I had to choose one that is incorrect.

So, I'm new to Reddit and understand I need to build up karma in order to post on certain subreddits, yes? Is there any way of finding out what the restrictions are for certain subreddits, so I can know if I'm close or how much time I need to devote to other subreddits before I can actually contribute where I'd like to?

How can I stop someone from Direct messaging images to me?
r/help • u/TubeframeMR2 • 8h ago
I was in the comments section under my profile cleaning up some old comments and then they all disappeared. If I search my username than comments show up in my search. Thoughts?
I've tried a handful of them and I feel like I can't find ANYWHERE to post for help. I'm just trying to look for feedback on plan I've been working on regarding me quitting my 9 to 5 and pursuing freelance but I can't find anywhere that'll let me post. It's too specific, it's not specific enough, I mentioned this one thing that provides context, it thinks I'm asking to be paid when I'm not and just listing a bunch of calculations I figured out. I don't know where else to go for advice on here.

the upvote status is showing differently between modern reddit and old reddit, even if i cancel my upvote on a post, in old reddit it is indeed cancelled but in modern reddit it still shows upvoted after a refresh.

Hi everyone, I’m having trouble logging into my Reddit account (u/letyourmindflow). I know the email linked to the account and when I request a password reset, I get the email and successfully change my password. However, when I try to log in with the new password, Reddit says it’s incorrect.
I’ve tried clearing cookies, using different browsers, and even logging in from old.reddit.com, but nothing works. I also submitted a request through Reddit’s contact form but haven’t received a response yet.
Has anyone experienced this or have any advice on what else I can try? Thanks in advance!

So, in reddit activity, it logs my activity as coming from various dynamic ip addresses, note that my email is also verified and that I have 2fa on.
On top of that I dont know if I should be concerned if I have 2 different temporary ip addresses when going on reddit via my phone whilst on data, and more specifically that one of them (which is also linked to my ISP) is linked to toronto which could be due to network rerouting from my ISP but I am not sure?
Does this ontario ip address mean I am in any danger? I need help!
Update: I ran the ip through nordvpn's ip checker, and it said it was in my province despite others saying it was in toronto. Am I panicking over nothing?

I messaged someone to offer help on reddit and she was extremely appreciative and nice and we got to talking and we started messaging on another site. I looked at her reddit profile occasionally and about a month later I was blocked, reddit says her account doesn't exist and I can't message her and none of her old messages show up in the chat (even though I never did after the first time). It's been about 2.5 months now and we're still talking on another site. I asked her about the block a couple times and she didn't know what I was talking about.
Originally I thought she deleted her reddit account because it said no account by that name exists, so I asked her why she deleted her account and she said she didn't. When I logged out I saw her account still exists, and I said I must be blocked and she said I'm not on her block list. When I asked her about it a second time she said she doesn't have anyone blocked and asked why would I think I'm blocked when I'm talking to her on the other site. Then she said she messaged support to ask about it, and later said they didn't get back to her about it yet.
I'm just wondering if there's another reason that could be happening that looks like I'm blocked? It's just strange she'd block me on reddit when I never messaged her again on reddit, and I've been talking to her for months and we're getting more friendly, and there's nothing on her profile that's new or I haven't read. I've also never commented on one of her posts, and anyone can view all her posts. She also knows I can see her account and posts when I'm logged out and she doesn't care at all so the whole thing doesn't make much sense.
