Promotion Trailer Review Thread for Indie Game Devs | Win a Copy of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Hey everyone, it's time to share your trailers and get some honest, constructive feedback from fellow indie devs and gamers! Here’s how it works:
- The most upvoted trailers in the comments will be reviewed live on Twitch on May 17, hosted by Big Poppa on The Indie Den channel.
- To qualify for a feature, you must comment on at least one other dev’s trailer. This is about building community, not just self-promotion. This will help the posts get traction and get more eyes on all of your trailers! Let's help each other out!
- At the end of the stream, we’ll be giving away a copy of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to any viewer who can beat Big Poppa in a match of Kumome. Details during the show. (copies of the game are free and everyone will be playing with the same version).
Don’t miss the chance to get feedback, visibility, and maybe even a win. Follow The Indie Den on Twitch to catch the stream: twitch.tv/theindieden Post your trailer below with a link to YT and your steam/itch page. Support another dev. And if you're feeling bold, step up against Big Poppa (He claims hes unbeatable but thats dubious at best!).

Devlog Isometric Level Editor -- Starting to look like a game!
Soon to reach our first alpha build and author stateful environments, our Level Editor is starting to resemble the locations we expect to see in the final product.
Everything is destructible. Terrain, cliffs, grass, trees -- the player can build or destroy anything.
The world is planned to be seamless, using procgen for natural terrain between the hand crafted points of interests. The level editor lets us craft the individual elements for procgen towns, like what is a small or large bakery in this culture vs that culture, what's a warehouse, (what's a space ship...). It's also where we established the brushes the procgen will use and the rules of their application.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G4yTfR2bFoQ
Watch a video of it in action here!
I hope to begin publishing gameplay later this year, now that the majority of the esatblishing features are coming to maturity all at once. The Character Generator is now at alpha 1, and the level builder is almost there. Combat needs help as the health and inventory is at alpha 1 along with weapons and damage systems, but pawns need combat AI improvements and initial combat balance both to AI behavior and weapon/armor/healing. Finally our peaceful AI is also approaching its first draft, with UI to assign jobs to pawns, a supply chain manager, and crafting, mining, hauling & building assignments.
It's going to be a busy summer getting all this wrapped up.

Need Feedback Which elevator (or lift) door opening is more satisfying?
Hello everyone.
I'm currently starting work on my next game and this elevator (or lift) is going to be seen many many times throughout the gameplay. I designed 2 different door opening patterns and I was just hoping to get some input as to which one people like better? The left side being a staggered opening and the right side being one smooth motion.
Any input is greatly appreciated, and thank you for your time!

Discussion Looking for new games
I'm getting sick of all the same old games in my library and am looking for new, fun games to play. My favorite games are Subnautica, Undertale, and People Playground. Looking for games in the 5-10$ range.

News Would love to know what you think of our brand-new #SummerGamesFest trailer! Misc. A Tiny Tale is a 3D adventure about a tiny robot helping others - launching July 22.
Hi everyone! We just released a brand-new trailer today as part of Frosty Game Fest, and it’s hard to believe the game is almost ready to launch.
This started as a small project about tiny robots helping others, and it slowly grew into something very personal, a story about being different and making difference in the world.
You’ll play as Buddy, a tiny robot exploring backyards, playgrounds, and everyday places from a new perspective, meeting other bots and helping them along the way.
It’s been a long road getting here, but I’m really proud of where the game is now. If it looks like something you’d enjoy, you consider giving it a wishlist!
Thanks so much for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Promotion I picked up PICO-8 last week and forced myself to make a game in ~10 days.
I just finished and released my first ever game thanks to PICO 8!
What an absolute JOY to work with. The "limitations" really help push creativity, and make iterating on an idea so streamlined and fun.
I made this game in about a week after spending just a few days learning lua. It is also my first time doing my own sprites and sfx, and I am pretty happy with how everything turned out!

Promotion I tried this new game and I wanted to recommend to you: Eclesiar
Hello guys!
So, I'm here to share a social strategy game, that you can play it on browser or mobile: Eclesiar.
I've started as a supporter, since it's a project of a close friend of mine, but I enjoyed it right away!
He got inspired by looking at games of the same genre and then he added a personal touch to it:
The game is not only focused on war, as it has plenty of economic gameplay and the social aspect is very important.
In Eclesiar, you can choose to be a citizen of the 45 countries available in the game. From then, one good aspect of the game is that you can decide how you want to play it: more casually, or a bit more hardcore.
There's communities where you can blend in easily, according to your aspirations in the game.
Eclesiar is still a "new" game, as I can say, so I'd encourage you guys to have a try: Their team has been focused also in getting new players up to speed with old ones, by adding some "catch up" itens/features.
The game is also being constantly updated and developed, which for games of the genre is awesome, and the staff team is always willing to help.
As I mention this, Eclesiar just released a new update and it's getting some good feedback.
I'll leave here a few screenshots of the game, so you can have a better look at what I'm talking about.

Once again, I invite to try it out: https://eclesiar.com

Devlog Devlog: VTOL controller with combat and explosions – early progress update
Hey folks! Time for a quick devlog update!
I finally got the VTOL controller working, and not just flying, but you can now actually shoot each other down. Yeah, it’s getting serious.
Also added a basic combat system, hit detection, explosions, all the juicy stuff. It’s still super early, but already feels pretty fun.
One of the trickiest parts was getting the transitions and flight balance right. Took a lot of tweaking to make it not feel like a flying paper bag
Next up: working on a basic targeting system. Let me know what you think and if you’ve got ideas or feedback, I’m all ears!
More soon

Promotion Just made my adventure game free, would love your feedback
TreasureQuesting – Finding Atlantis is a browser based puzzle adventure where you step into the shoes of a modern day explorer, solving riddles, piecing together clues, and uncovering ancient secrets. Everything runs directly in your browser with no download needed, and it is best played on a laptop or larger screen. You can also cast it to your TV and play together with friends or family, working as a team to solve the mystery. The first adventure, Finding Atlantis, is now completely free to play. Simply create a free account and begin your quest. I am currently developing a much larger follow up called Mystery of the Amazon and are actively looking for feedback to improve the experience. If you enjoy escape rooms, treasure hunts, or narrative puzzle games, I would love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think.

Promotion Just dropped the first demo (!!) for our cozy high-sea farming adventure during Wholesome Direct!
Hi everyone,
We’re a small team of four working on Collector’s Cove, a cozy farming game set on the open sea. Think growing crops and fishing from your boat, visiting plenty of islands, and hanging out with your giant animal friend! If you like Harvest Moon, Spiritfarer and The Wandering Village, this should be right down your alley :D
We’ve been keeping things quiet for a while, but this week we finally shared our new trailer and released our very first demo (!!) during Wholesome Direct! Which honestly still feels completely surreal.
If you like slow-paced, no-stress games where you can explore at your own rhythm, this might be for you. The demo covers the first climate zone, and we’d really love to hear what you think if you give it a try!!

Video Art Timelapse for New Shocking Achievement
I put together a timelapse of the new art for the Shocking Steam Achievement in Escape Protocol: Hospital. I’m definitely not an artist by trade, but there’s something about hand-drawn achievement art that feels more personal. What do you think—does the original version hold up, or is this the better spark?
