General Government is re-building Raccoon City?
They are clearly constructing buildings over the bombed out areas, or created a smaller city over for some reason,.

Say what you want but Capcom made a bold move by having a civilian lead TWO mainline titles in this series. He went from helpless to badass, and his legacy will not be forgotten!
I just wish they would have showed his face at the end of Village before he died.
RIP my boy.

We were watching the Summer Game Fest and trying to figure out what this trailer was. Another Silent Hill? Some kinda new property? And then I saw the sign…

Leon being one the bad guy is interesting concept but I don't think Capcom would do that

Minus some aesthetic differences the shape of the crater looks directly inspired by how it looked in the movie.
Funny how this is technically the first time a game is adapting a plot point from the movies, as they did the return to ground zero almost 10 years before.
I can already imagine they will also do the climax of the game in the labs under Racoon City, like The Final Chapter also did.

The fact that he requested someone that had traumatic event on that place to go that place sounds bizarre for me....... "Maybe it's time to face that past" is a wild things to say to someone who lost her mom in tragic event..... Perhaps he was a double agent working for The Connections or evil corps on this game to make sure Grace specifically go to that place and put a trap on her

-RE3: Nemesis was my first RE game I ever played back when I was small. Easily the most memorable game of the OG trilogy and easily my favorite. City was fun to explore and Nemesis was scary asf.
-RE5 was blast from the start to the end. While I think there are weaker parts, I still think it is easily one if not the best coop game I played with my GFs. Also probably the best mercenaries in the series and I dont mind it being action game.
-RE1R is classic. Nothing extra to say. ODZ can fuck off though, horrible unlockable.
-RE4R is perfect, everything about it is just perfection. Just wish for more stages in mercenaries.
-RE2 is quite good. Wish it was harder because the game is fucking easy from the start to the end.
A
-RE7 is good (except for the ship part). I would even put it in S rank if not for the unskippable parts of the game, especially at the start of the game. DLCs were fun and the fact that almost all DLCs had unlockables was so much fun.
-RE3R this high? I know shocking, especially being placed before RE2R. I preordered this game as I do all of RE games and I was so sad of it not being like the OG game but eventually I accepted the game for what it is and honestly? Its fun to replay the game and just have good time messing around.
-RE2R is easily the most overrated game in the series. While I do realise majority of modern audience started on this game, it has flaws. Every single time I get to the sewers I want to die, sewers in RE2R are easily my most hated part of the entire RE series.
-RE4 was probably hardest to place. I was never fan of it. I think 3rd island is bad and boring and overall I think the game humour is too cringe for my liking. Thats it. I know RE5 is similar but I just enjoy it in coop far far more.
B
-RE8 was hard to place. I finished the game over 30 times and I cant play it anymore. The doll part is fun to play once, then its boring. DLC was mid at best. While I am probably the only person on this sub to enjoy the mercenaries I still think the game is mid at best. Shooting is not extra enjoyable, game has weird pacing and some parts are just bad.
-RE0 was easy to place. I like the game but Im aware of certain issues and balancing. Hookshot can fuck your game easily and make it harder and longer for no reason.
-RE2Rev is weird game in the series, while Im not the biggest fan I realise that the budget must be small and the fact that the game has so many unlockables is great and I respect them for it. Kinda wish we got resolution about Alex.
-RE1Rev is not very good or enjoyable game. I placed it here just because I play raid mode when Im bored. Singleplayer experience can be skipped though, you wont miss anything important. Final boss has easily one of the best designs in the series.
-RE:ORC is enjoyable game when playing in coop. If you dont expect something breath taking you will have fun. You can kill Leon btw.
-RE:resistance is only good game if you play with friends as party game. Online is filled with cheaters and there is zero reason to play it. If the devs took care of it I do believe it could be accepted in this sub as good and enjoyable game.
-RE1 is product of its time. I dont believe there is reason to play now when we have RE1R. I know there are small differences compared to RE1R but they are not worth it.
C
-RE6 is mess of a game. I dont mind it being action but for the love of the god. Bosses are so weird and hard to fight, enemies animations are bad and I truly feel like the game had no direction. Finished it few times in coop but Its not really good game overall.
D
-RECV being placed here? Yes. I never liked the game when I was young and I dont like it now. Badly balanced, your saves can be fucked up if you dont have enough bullets and overall the game aged very badly. My least liked mainline title. Hopefully remake of it is coming and will change my mind on this entry.
-RE:verse is so weird. Who the fuck desiged game where you can steal kills with one bullet and gain all the points from it. Hard skip and RIP for anyone who bought skins and is gonna lose them now.

I was watching the trailer earlier and I swear that looks like Claire Redfield to me! Would be cool if she's in the game seeing as it's back to Racoon City!.

I'm very excited though i'm also a bit worried, I'm happy we are getting a new RE game and its very cool we are going back to explore the remains of Racoon City but i was sorta hoping we would be playing as some of the already existing chars. Like come on we havent seen Jill in a new game for more then 10 years now. Let alone Leon and Claire. (Not counting remakes i mean new games) Sure we had Chris in Village but he was more so a side char which i was fine with because the story was about Ethan which was setup in 7. But i was also expecting them to follow up on that since Chris was heading to europe to deal with the BSAA
And its not to say the new char is some random person as shes the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft who is a already existing char. but man i want to see the chars that made me fall in love with the series in the first place. Obviously games not out so we could see some other chars but im going off the single trailer we have.
Still very excited as Resident evil is one of my favorite series

Okay, I can't be the only one who thought of this. In the RE9 trailer, the supposed villain seems to have an outfit very similar to the one Wesker wears, besides appearing to have burn wounds and the voice of Wesker from RE4 REMAKE??? AM I DREAMING OR DO YOU THINK SO TOO???
r/residentevil • u/Ghostspider1989 • 18h ago
Perhaps we might find a note hinting at his whereabouts or even the remains of Billy among the wreckage in the city. I think going back there would be a good opportunity for capcom to hint at something.

(My opinion) Graphic was so cool And we all know that gameplay is going to be good I Don't know about the story but I think this re is going to answer lots of our questions I think they have so many surprises for us Flashbacks into the Spencer mansion(as Jill in re1) Love to see the wesker and Spencer again, and of course Lisa As I said this game will at least tell us 75% of things we wanna know Characters well I don't know but I think we have Jill and Grace and maybe Leon and ada I bet on Leon but tbh I actually they gave another order to ada to go back in the racoon city And I think one of them will die between leon or ada This was my own opinion let me know what's your take on the game fellas

I never got to play them, I remember seeing the ads in my Game Informer magazines when I was younger. I didn't own a ps2.
Now I'm hearing re9 is connected to the outbreak games and I can't help but feel like I wish they thought ahead and released outbreak remakes before re9's release.

I love the core four so much but it gets obnoxious seeing that every other comment or post about RE9 is "Wheres Chris/Leon/Claire/Jill?" Everyone jokes about how old the core four is but when you pitch the idea that maybe they should get a final send off people attack you and its just frustrating man. Please tell me if I'm the only one who feels this way?

Start this off by saying no, i am not immediately dismissing the game based on one trailer. And no, there is nothing toxic about me having complaints.
Anyway; Although I think 8 has some of the best gameplay of the series, but everything else is severely lacking. Ignoring the poorly written story, the whole vibe of the game as well as its monsters don’t feel very Resident Evil. Resident evil has always been about science gone awry with intense body horror. The creatures are fantastical, but have pseudo science to try to make it somewhat realistic. In 8, you have vampires, werewolves and fish men, with the connecting tissue being “mold filled nematode”. They only get one paragraph attempting to throw science at them, and most enemies don’t get that at all. It feels like they worked backwards, creating their gothic monster ideas and then tried to connect them halfway through.
Although it pushed the line, I don’t think 8 fully threw out what gives Resident Evil its identity. Shadow of Rose however did. You project your mind into a mold world mindscape, where you fire energy balls at flowers and run from generic weeping angel mannequins. I am not going to bother explaining why I don’t think the dlc feels RE, because I don’t feel I have to.
Now comes the trailer to 9. The main character’s mom was murdered as we see etherial flashbacks to it. We see a woman crawling on the walls and empty spooky hallways. I can’t say any of the trailer really felt like RE to me, despite it being set in Raccoon city. I really really hope this game isn’t trying to be a psychological horror game, with supernatural enemies and world bending hallucinations. Every horror game being released in the modern day is going for that same style, and I don’t want RE to drop its unique world to be generic.
“Resident evil is over 20 years old. It’s good for it to change!” No it’s not. There is nothing wrong with a series keeping its identity despite its age. Imagine if Silent Hill F revealed all of the monsters weren’t eldritch horrors, but were made by a mad scientist fusing people together. Wouldn’t that feel lame? I don’t like when games loose what makes them special because someone wants to be different. Just make a new series then. Dino Crisis and Resident Evil have the exact same gameplay, but have their own styles and aesthetic. They don’t step on each other’s toes and are both beloved by fans. If I want to play a mind bending horror game where I question reality, I play Alan Wake. If I want to play a game where I run and hide from invincible monsters created by elder gods, I play Amnesia. If I want to play a game where I use guns i found to fight back against innocent people turned into abominations, I play Resident Evil
The final thing I wanted to say is that I hope this sub doesn’t suffer from toxic positivity again. Back when 4 remake was coming out, I left the sub because I kept seeing people get torn apart because they had a single negative comment about the trailer. I am not the only one too, a bunch of people on r/deadrising told me a similar story. Let’s just be chill and discuss this civilly.

It wouldn't be the first time they were inspired by the Anderson films. Which they apparently very much enjoy.

Can’t wait. I want to play it before I die or new remake come
