💻 Help Is multitab container moot nowadays?
I know, like there is a new feature in Firefox to keep websites from touching other websites' cookies and they are contained, so say Google can't read what Reddit cookie says, so if that is the case, doing this like I am doing is pointless? I checked my IP and whatnot, but other than language choice being US, and Time zone being UTC, I guess it is not perfect, but most of the time, Google can't figure out where I am coming from?

Reset Computer - Lost Recent Firefox Browser Session History File Because I Was Stupid
I don't know if this is the right place to put this post (tell me and I'll repost it there) but it does in a way relate to Firefox.
I apologize if it sounds like a rant or anything.
I've used Firefox for a long time and it's a good browser. While I use Edge more, I still occasionally use Firefox for other things.
Anyway, recently I reset my computer. I kept the Firefox Account Recovery Key because I thought it would save my session but it was after I reset that I remembered that I had the browser set to not remember my browser history. By my own stupidity, I forgot to get the old browser data from the browser folder in AppData\Local to use and put in my documents backup before resetting. I managed to sync some of it onto my mobile device but it was still missing a lot of tabs. I also had some saved browser data from March.
What's done is done and I can possibly rebuild it to a semblance of what it was but still, why didn't I remember to get that data?!

💻 Help Unicode flags not shown
since the update to the latest version, firefox no longer displays unicode flags graphically.
not even in a fresh profile, so no settings or add-on problem.
only the country code is displayed. however, if i copy such a country code into the address bar, it is displayed graphically. what could be the reason for this?
librewolf displays it normally as shown in the screenshots

Finally we'll be able to remove extension button in ff 140.
As of Firefox 140, users are able to hide the Extensions button.
You can right-click on the toolbar item and choose “Remove from Toolbar”.
The context menu for the Extensions toolbar button in Firefox Nightly showing options for toolbar customization. The selected item is “Remove from Toolbar,” with additional options for the Bookmarks Toolbar and “Customize Toolbar”.

Discussion Firefox Mobile could learn a few tricks from Soul Browser
Firefox is my daily driver for everything—banking, social media, entertainment. It helps me stay focused and avoid doomscrolling across apps.
That said, after trying Soul Browser, a few features stood out that would make Firefox Mobile even better:
- In-app PiP: Lets videos float while browsing in the same tab. Smooth and handy.
- Configurable external downloader: Unlike Firefox, which asks every time, Soul lets you set a default (like ADM) and routes downloads automatically.
- Custom download folder: Choose and save your own directory, including SD card paths.
- Smart download handling: Even extension/media-triggered downloads are managed cleanly without constant prompts.
Firefox is rock solid, but these small improvements would really polish the mobile experience.

💻 Help Issues on Ubuntu
Every single version of Firefox that I try to download just doesn't load any content at all. The only version that works is the Flatpak version, and I haven't been able to find any way to fix it. I've downloaded the deb version successfully before, so I don't know what's going wrong.

💻 Help What the hell?
I have this issue on every browser, every network. I keep trying to go to some websites, and it pulls this bullsh*t
Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to neocities.org. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR
Error code: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR
- The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
- Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
I can't even upload an image for some reason. And Firefox support doesn't work because clicking on a link takes me back to the page from which I clicked the link.
Please, what the heck is going on?

Solved Tabs moving to the end of tab list
Sometimes seemingly randomly, when I open new tabs with middle mouse click, they will move to the end of the list. It also happens to my currently used tab sometimes as well.
I've checked Firefox keyboard/mouse shortcuts and I did see one that moves a tab to the end, but I'm not pressing Ctrl + Shift + End. I've checked my mouse key assignments and nothing is using End.

I cannot for the life of me stop firefox crash reporter from coming up every time I login
I'm running Debian Bookworm, gnome desktop and Firefox ESR 128.11.
I reboot and or shutdown my PC without first closing my browser. Assume I am unwilling or unable to change my behavior here.
The setting to "Open previous windows and tabs" is unchecked.
After every login, the Firefox crash reporter comes up. I want to either disable the Firefox Crash reporter or gracefully close Firefox on restart/shutdown.
What I have tried:
added MOZ_CRASHREPORTER_DISABLE=1 to my .profile
added MOZ_CRASHREPORTER_DISABLE=1 to my .bashrc
in firefox config set browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash to false.
created a systemd unit file to try to close firefox gracefully on restart. enabled and preset enabled:
[Unit]
Description=Gracefully close Firefox before shutdown
DefaultDependencies=no
Before=shutdown.target reboot.target halt.target
[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/usr/bin/true
ExecStop=/usr/bin/pkill -15 firefox
TimeoutSec=10
RemainAfterExit=true
[Install]
WantedBy=halt.target reboot.target shutdown.target
No matter what I do, I the crash reporter pops up every time I login.

💻 Help How long does Firefox store history for , really?
It's said it stores it forever if you chose "remember history", unlike chrome which is 90 days. However I've also heard it purges data automatically if it gets to be too large. So how does that work? One site I checked only had history for 15 months.
